Probably the most comprehensive free city tour in Santiago. The number of attractions we saw made the four-hour hike worth it. Do note that while the brochure lists a long list of attractions covered by the tour, we didn't actually enter many of these attractions. Rather, the tour stops outside the attractions and our guide, Antonio, would offer an introduction into the said attraction before moving on. This is great because it allows people to decide which attractions they would like to visit then return to the attractions later on their own, without holding up the whole group.

The only grouse I have is the large size of the group (about 20 persons) as this made it difficult for everyone to follow the commentary given by our guide.

Tip: Go for the morning tour as this coincides with the changing of guards, a rather impressive ceremony with a marching band and guards on horses.

Thank Mei L

This tour is a must for anyone visiting Santiago. I was born there (but left years ago) and it was still very interesting and enjoyable. The guide was knowledgeable and provided a good introduction to the basics of the history of Chile, including a very balanced and rational description of the turbulent 70's.

The tour does not go into the buildings, but shows you the outside and talks about them, so that you can come back and visit.

The four hours pass very fast, and you get a coffee/beer stop in the middle.

The tour is free, but you are expected to tip the guide, I would recommend at least US$10.

Santiago is a great place for itself, and its history and way of living are exciting, but when Felipe shows you the city, it's much much more!
His dramatic skill makes the tour so enjoyable and comprehensive, you just don't want it to end!

My partner and I were thoroughly impressed with the tour, which was incredibly informative and interesting. Our guide was very energetic and comical, as well as knowing his stuff. We definitely recommend the free walking tour, and can't find any faults with it.

I started the tour expecting very little and was simply blown away by the quality of this free tour. Our guide, Phillipe, was informative and witty, a good conversationalist, who took us to areas I would have never found by myself. Getting around the city on foot is an excellent way to see the sights and to understand a little more of the culture of this interesting country. Definitely a good starting point for any stay in Santiago or Chile in general. The tour guide works of tips which are voluntary but most are more than happy to pay by the end of such a great tour. Thumbs up.
