This excellent museum gives you an overview of Julie’s recent turbulent history. Be sure you get the headsets they’re not expensive and they will make all the difference in the world unless you speak Spanish. Your work away from this museum better understanding the country and maybe even better understanding yourself.

This monumental concrete building houses decades of history presented in a modern & engaging format. Although particularly focussed on Chilean history , it also addresses human rights issues in the wider international sphere. The installations meander around the building over several levels. Some of the most poignant include children’s art & personal accounts of detainment. The issues of equality & equity are raised. This is all complemented with a small but interesting museum shop, an inviting looking cafe & a research area. Parquet Quinta Normale is adjacent. A good all-round outing.

Beautiful modern architecture and history that must not be forgotten. The museum is well organized and displays a multitude of items, from newspaper articles to letters written by children. Parque Quinta Normal is right behind it and offers a peaceful stroll and other museums.

The audio tour was very well constructed and put together. If it was not for the audio tour, I am not sure if I would have gotten much out of the experience as I do not speak Spanish. The museum is very well organized and easy to navigate. The content of the museum represents an important part of Chile's history and really rounds out your visit to the country. I recommend trying to find time in your itinerary to include this museum. If you do it earlier in your trip, it does help to shape your experience with some of the other cultural sights around Santiago.

Free Entrance - After spending 2000 pesos (USD $2.90) for an audio guide, my expectations were rather high after seeing great Tripadvisor reviews; however, I turned in my audioguide and left after about 15 minutes. Boring and not worth it. The museum means well but is poorly presented unless you are Chilean. No photography is allowed, there’s nothing to photograph anyway.
