We have visited this restaurant on many occassions at both it's former address and over the last three years in the new location. The architecture and design of this restaurant is outstanding. The main building is a refurbished two storey Italian Villa in the up-market Neuva Costanera street, in the suburb of Vitacura, which is home to many of Santiago's top restaurants. The inside of this villa was opened up to provide different eating areas and a bar. The outside terraces are super elegant as well with black and white being the colour scheme of the old style floor tiles. the furniture is black and the table tops are black and white marble. Chandeliers are hung from the high beams that hold an awning to shelter the area. Silver candelabras with white candles are on all the tables as well as a single red rose. There are many sofas and coffee tables in the outside areas amongst the shrubs and trees. This makes for the most incredibly dramatic and elegant ambiance. In summer this is definitely where you want to be. The inside of this restaurant both upstairs and downstairs is very beautiful as well with the same black and white elegant theme, with many imaginative light fittings. The owner Chef Carlo Von Muhlenbrock is very well known not only as an excellent chef specialising in Chilean style cooking with a modern twist, but also as a Television personality. We started our evening with a plate of mixed antipasta consisting of Prosciutto, salad Caprese, olives and grilled aubergines, this was beautifully presented and dressed well, quite delicious. For our main course we chose the Congrio fish fillet stuffed with scallops and prawns. This was served on a Spinach sauce, very pleasing. The second plate ordered was a fillet of lamb from Patagonia in the South of Chile. This was served in slices with a reduced port sauce on top of a puree of sweetcorn with a hint of spice. Although we felt the lamb was slightly overcooked, which was unfortunate, it was still a good dish. For dessert we shared a wonderful bitter chocolate firm mousse served with strawberries and a raspberry sauce. This was truly rich and delicious and would satisfy the chocoholics admirably. We finished the evening relaxing on the sofas enjoying very good coffees. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic special occassion as well as a business dinner. At the rear of the restaurant is a large outdoor area suitable for events with a stage. This area is also beautiful with the chandeliers and candelabras on the tables and sofas etc. for lounging. When it comes to design this restaurant is quite unique.

I was sceptical about using the place because of the negative reviews and we were hosting Top Leaders from the company I work for. I dont understand why this place has received ANY bad reviews.

Food was excellent - I really learnt how to enjoy eating fish again because of the fantastic dishes. I was introduced to the best Pesco Sours and wines in Chile at this restaurant. The decor was tasteful and the ambience superb. I ate there 2 nights in a row and both nights more than met my expectations.

I would rate this as a first class restaurant

It's a fancy place. We're not fond of the decoration, classy and kitsch, all in black and white, some kind of fake diamonds falling from the ceiling, black plastic "rocks" on the (heavy) glasses. Staff is very formal, which kind of makes us uncomfortable. BUT the food is absolutely delicious! We had a wonderful fresh mozzarella with roasted tomatoes, arugula and italian ham as well as spicy cheese 'empaniditas' to start with. Then we had a seafood dish (eel/shrimp/scallops) with baby potatoes (sooo good in Chile) and the best ricotta ravioli with a fresh tomato sauce and finely chopped eggplant/zucchini. We finished with fresh fruits and papaya honey. We were offered sorbets between plates and sweets with the coffee.

Not the cheapest place in town but in comparison to what you would pay in the US or Europe for the same food, Santiago fine restaurants are great!

This is actually the 2d Osadia, since the restaurant moved from Av. Tobalaba some years ago. The chef has a very rich and diverse menu, often changing, that includes many traditional dishes with a very modern and original twist. While the main dishes are excellent, the starters are superb, and you absolutely need to have a dessert, as these are ... mind boggling.

Very high quality for the products, flawless preparation, superb presentation, and very professional service.

While the restaurant is very nice, the terrace is superlative. You can also consider Osadia for nice lunches.

The price is on the high side for Santiago, but definitely one of the very best experiences in Chile. In terms of price and service, this is at par with Astrid & Gaston, the gastronomical reference, but in terms of atmosphere and presentation, Osadia made a very elegant move to the 21st century, while its competition remained entrenched in the (early) 20th century.
