Reviewed July 28, 2013

This is a really nice W with the added advantage of you actually being able to see something at night!

The public areas are really something. Very stylish ( as expected ) but also comfortable.

I had a great room on the 11th floor that was quiet, well laid out, with a great bed.

I found all the hotel staff incredibly helpful no matter what silly question I asked. None of the snootiness you often get at a W in the US. The gym on the third floor was awesome but has stupid hours for an international hotel. They need to seriously consider 24 hour access.

The hotel is in a beautiful residential area about 20 minutes from central Santiago. You can pay 10,000 pesos for a trip by cab or 670 pesos ( on the weekend ) by metro to get to Plaza de Armas. You have a choice of 2 metro stations within a safe 10 minute walk of the hotel.

The views from the upper levels are great and the bar scene is definitely energetic.

I had breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Good food, well prepared with attentive service.

I will definitely stay at this hotel on my next trip to Santiago.

Room Tip: Get an upper floor for the view

Great service: we arrived early morning and they gave us a room straightaway.
Great location: lots of good restaurants in the area.
Definitely worth the price, the view from the swimming pool is breathtaking!

Room Tip: the higher the better. South facing view not bad. North facing room possibly quieter

I stayed here on a business trip last year.

The room was well appointed and very clean. The level of service was almost on par with the W hotels in the US, although not quite.

There is a rooftop bar which is quite busy and friendly in the evening.

Overall a very good stay, if a bit on the expensive side.

Room Tip: lower floors have a shorter wait for the elevator

Very professional, friendly and smooth service at reception.

Nice rooms, but poor noise insulation from the corridor and not too clean bathroom. Very good bath products and bed. Very good TV and room layout. Stylish, but needs better lighting.

The bar and restaurant are excellent - delicious food, very good martinis and a relaxed atmosphere with a bit of 'see and be seen'.
Extremely good gym offering everything one wants (except for a TRX).

Excellent breakfast. Despite living in Switzerland, I had my best Bircher Muesli here!

Had a great stay at the W Santiago at the end of May. Everyone was extremely friendly and bent over backwards to make our stay great. The concierge (Magdalena?) was amazing and helped us book a great tour into the Andes Mountains. I would return here in a heartbeat and definitely stay at the W. The Asian/Sushi restaurant was one of the best meals I've had all year.

Firstly, this is not a bad hotel by any means, but I have to say for the price (and relative to what you would expect from the W Hotel chain) it is sub-par.

As other reviewers have commented, the rooms are dark and the fit-out of the rooms are sub-standard (noticed cracks here and there). Again the rooms are by no means shabby but not what you'd expect for the price.

The service was also a bit sporadic - we went to the wrong counter (thinking it was the concierge counter) and the two staff there just kept on talking amongst themselves and ignored us until we grabbed their attention. However, this is not to say that other staff were not attentive.

We recently stayed 3 nights at the W Hotel in Santiago. The rooms are ok, but it is too dark in this hotel. I asked for a lamp and was brought a little spot light lamp that would not stay together and it got really hot. The beds were pretty comfy. The shower is open to the bedroom area so you can see right in. There was also a lot of mildew in the grout of the shower. That is a turn off for me as far as hotels go. This hotel looks like it could already use some updating. It is in a pretty good area. The lobby bar was pretty cool, but it was very difficult to get waited on. The rooftop bar was closed for renovations. That was a drag as well. I would stay somewhere else if I ever return to Santiago. This did not live up to the W standards in my opinion. What a shame. Could be a really neat hotel.
