Ocean Pacific's is a must visit restaurant in Santiago. While the restaurant itself is an eclectic collection of different rooms with unique collections of art, costumes, seafaring antiques and room settings, the service, food variety and food itself is first rate and reasonably priced. It should be visited as one of the top sites in Santiago.

Here's my theory: A fanatic collector (or hoarder) off marine-themed objects finally got an ultimatum from his wife -- the stuff goes or I go! So he opened a restaurant to house his nautical collection. When you have a whale vertebral column and ribs suspended in your main room (as if you're inside a whale) and every conceivable nautical object covering walls and display cases, what other explanation could there be? With this level of kitsch, one expects mediocre to bad food -- but it's well-prepared (mostly seafood, of course), and arrives in a timely manner, which is rare in Chile. Menu is exclusively in Spanish, but photos identify most menu selections so you should have no problem ordering if you don't speak the language. Be sure to have a look around -- photos are allowed, even encouraged. A Santiago hidden gem!

OP is a conjunction of rooms each decorated with naval motives and having nothing to do with each other. You'll go from whale table to submarine passing thru a trench.
The food is very good, the attention in excellent and the prices are great. Stick to sea products. The wine list is not huge but it has enough good chilean whites to satisfy lunch.

Ocean Pacific's features an impressive and eclectic collection of nautical memorabilia, including a whale skeleton, lots of navy stuff, diving outfits and much more. They nailed the sea theme thing big time. However the food and service are quite average, so go for the unique ambiance, but don't expect haute cuisine. I tried the albacore, it was dry and overcooked. Same with the shrimp appetizer. The chupe de mariscos was not special. The waiters were dressed in navy uniforms, but were not particularly attentive. Our food arrived warm, but not hot, clearly spent some time waiting in the kitchen, even though it was brought out with those metal covers that hotels use for room service to keep food warm.
