Room: Very comfortable, excellent bathroom with tub and separate shower, great view of the lake.
Restaurant: Very good food. We were in a group of 8, and the chuletas de cordero(lamb) and mero al miel(honey glazed fish) were outstanding.
Spa: Excellent heated pool with great view of the lake.
Staff: Very pleasant, especially the waiters at the restaurant and bar
Low point: The exchange rate used. Everything we drank and ate(the room rates were prepaid for) is summed up in Chilean pesos, as it sould be, but when you close the bill you can pay in pesos (with 19% VAT added) or in dollars (VAT-exempt, with exchange rate of 470 pesos/dollar, when at the airport exchange booth it was 505 and the official rate 520). So you´re left with the option of paying 19% to the Chilean government or 10% to the hotel in their questionable exchange rate).
Other than this, I highly recommend this hotel!

I stayed here fro three nights in January 2008. Hotel is pristine with an amazing location set on the lake with the Villarrica volcano as a back drop. Truly a 5 star property with all the amenities. Gourmet food, beautiful spa, warm friendly engaging service, concierge, tour desk to make arrangements for the tremendous amount of activities in the area ( horseback riding, kayaking, white water rafting, shopping, dining, even helicopter tours!) I want to go back in the winter season to check out the ski areas. I would recommend this hotel as a great 3 or 4 night stay combined with Santiago and the wine country. It was easy to get to with direct flights from Santiago to Temuco and a 65minute transfer to the property. Just amazingly relaxing and perfect.

Just returned from a 4 day stay at the Villarica Park Hotel.
Amazing location right on the lake, with large balconies to watch the sunset. Rooms were spacious with nice bathrooms. Nice pool area and spa. The breakfast included is very good with a large selection, and the dinner that we ate at the hotel was great. Staff aim to please, and were able to book tours to Puorquehue (sp?) Nat Park and Geometrix Hot Springs right from the hotel. Location is just a short drive to Pucon - taxis are only $8US into town. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

This excellent hotel is right between Villarica and Pucon, so if you do not have your own transportation, it may be a little isolated. It is luxurious, excellent service and food, a tad on the expensive side, but definitely worth a splurge once in a while. If you rent a car, it is a great place from where you can visit many interesting places, hot springs, mountains, volcanoes, lakes, etc. I recommend a 4X4, as then you can go off road into the many national parks in the area. For the best restaurants, drive the 10 minutes to Pucon, La Grilla, La Madre Tierra, are among the finest. Also some nice shopping there. Villarica is a smaller and more homely town.

Definitely will return to the Park Lake Hotel on the next visit to the lakes region.

Set between a lake and a volcano is this great hotel. Modern decor, bright and airy with excellent service it was a welcome change from the last stay in Puerto Varas.
The food here is sublime! Breakfast presents a feast for the most jaded palate with a cornucopia of fruits, juices, cereals, light as air pastries, any kind of eggs with al lthe trimmings etc etc. The room we had (a small suite) was huge, with a pivate balcony overlooking the lake. Beautifully furnished, very comfortable beds and very modern bathroom (it took mea while to figure our how the shower worked!)
Highly recommended for the most discerning traveller.
