“Experiencia increíble”

Es majestuoso, imponente, sublime como expresión de la naturaleza.
Absolutely fantastic, so beautiful and inspiring.
You can arrive to some part of the top by car, but then you have to walk, it is hard, really hard, your physical condition has to be very good, anyway it worth it.

“One of the best experiences in Chile”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013

Climbing Volcan Villarica is a must for people visiting Chile. Although the climb is strenuous at times and not everyone made it to the top, it was extremely rewarding. The view from the top is extraordinary. I would definitely make sure you use a licsenced agency when climbing because there are several agencies without. Man and Nature was great for us and I have also heard great things about Sol and Nieve as well (both have their proper licensure with Chile).

I went on a volcano climbing excursion. It was amazing. The volcano itself is fascinating. Worth a visit! Especially fun sliding down!

“WOW!!!”

It's billed as no. 3 in Chile's top ten and a climb to the top of volcano Villarrica near Pucon certainly lives up to expectations. Make no mistake it's a full-on day, exhausting and exhilarating in equal measures. People have died up there and so they only allow qualified mountaineers and guides on the volcano. For your own safety, and to get the most out of the experience, it's also really important to go with a good 'tour' company that have good guides and good equipment - ice axes, crampons, boots, clothing etc. My partner and I are not young and this was a lifetime challenge. Our priority was to find people who could allow us to 'do' the whole thing but watch out for us at the same time. We ended with 'Patagonia Experience' located in the centre of Pucon and couldn't have been more satisfied - or better cared for. Number of people in our group was limited to 8, the equipment was complete and good quality and the guides were seriously concerned with our safety as well as ensuring the best experience possible. Couldn't fault them. We saw a lot of other tour companies, not a lot cheaper, that skimped on equipment and had groups of 30 or more! My advice - go for it, but choose who with carefully.
