Sensational spot with an astonishing view of volcano and lake. Relax atmosphere yet close to town if you want to explore around. Private beach leads to a beautiful trekking by the lake. Owner Javiera was most helpful and welcoming, providing us with every piece of info we requested. Absolutely recommend!

We booked Bordemundo due to the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor and other sites and we made the right choice. Our cabin, Notro, sits high above the lake and has incredible views of Volcano Osorno and Calbuco. We had a great wood stove that was hardly used due to the warm weather. Endless supply of hot water for showers (Javiera's showers were by far the largest of any of the showers we experienced while on a 10 day trip in Chile). The complex has a perfect sand beach and the lake water was tolerably warm. Most important, this place is quiet, clean, and comes with fresh eggs and fresh bread! It doesn't get any better. We had a group of 4 in the cabin with no problems. We used the cabin as a base to explore/hike the local area. We suggest the Desolation Pass hike on Osorno (not easy), an afternoon at the Angelmo Seafood market in Puerto Montt with lunch in one of the dozens of small kitchens, and a drive to Antillanca near the Puyehue for a chance to see the real Chile countryside (go the back way through Fruitillar). Javiera and her brother Alphonse were there for any questions and both speak good English. We had a potential disaster when a dump truck with a load of gravel crushed the water line to our cabin, but Javiera's husband Lathan jumped on it and fixed it within a couple of hours! If you are looking to fly fish, use Bordemundo as a base and hire local guides to save a pile of money fishing the Rio Petrohue and Maullin. The cabins are a 5 minute drive to Puerto Varas and dozens of excellent restaurants. Thanks Javiera!

Room Tip: Notro is best for larger groups.

Javiera gave us a delightful tour of their farm and greenhouses. It was such a fun, unique experience. She told us about all of the animals, showed us their gardens and greenhouses, let us feed the chickens and even let me collect some fresh, warm eggs. It was so inspiring to hear the caring way she described their varied, small-scale agricultural ventures. You can tell right away that she does this work because she cares about it and because she has come to appreciate the land and love the animals.

The cabin itself was quaint, cozy and clean. Javiera would start a fire in our wood stove in the evening for us to heat the cabin. There was also an electric space heater. She brought us a delicious, home-cooked and locally-sourced breakfast in the morning (complete with eggs and produce from their farm). What a special treat!

The beach is a very short walk from the cabin, on the same property. The water is crystal clear, and we had a gorgeous view of snow-capped volcanoes (including el Volcán Osorno) from the shore.

The grounds are very green and peaceful. This location is a welcome retreat from city life.

Javiera is a wonderful, attentive host who is knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. She gave us several great tips regarding nearby restaurants and outdoor activities.

We wished we could have stayed at this idyllic, relaxing place much longer than we did and hope to return some day!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Araucaria cabin. It was delightful. The cabin has 2 bedrooms with queen beds.

This was my second time staying at these wonderful Cabanas. This time I got the cabanas with the best view of Orsono, and WOW what a view! Javie & Lathan's hospitality is fantastic as always and I really had such a wonderful and relaxing time. I can not wait to return on my next visit to Chile!

My wife and I stayed here 3 years ago and returned for 3 nights recently again. The views of the volcan Osorno, the surrounding and Javiera's hospitality are still fantastic! The location with new access to lake and the growth of shrubs and trees as well as her animals makes this an idyllic place to stay. Cabins are nice and comfortable and a great location. As McArthur said: we shall return!!

Room Tip: Pick a cabana near lake!
