We had their daily special which came as a nice surprise because of our poor Spanish. The brownie for dessert was great.

I had a delicious lunch here (they stop serving food around 3pm but are open until 8 pm for coffee/dessert). Everything is homemade, down to the bread on my sandwich, and they have fresh juices etc. The desserts are beautiful, but I was too full to indulge. Nice atmosphere in an old German house, very friendly staff. It is a about a 10 minute walk from downtown, and is a welcome respite from the very touristy downtown scene.

Even though it's not in downtown Puerto Varas, it's only about a 10-minute walk along the foreshore to get to La Gringa - so get those legs moving because it's worth it!

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. After an explanation of how the menu options worked, I chose the menu of the day which comprised a choice of entrée (from 2) and main (variety of options, such as quiche, sandwich, special dish) plus a drink. The cauliflower soup I had was simply amazing and the main seafood dish was just as appetizing. And if you're into sweets they have a variety of scrumptious looking cakes as well.

This is one of the best options for lighter fare in PV. A highly recommended spot for a relaxing and value-for-money lunch!

we read the good recommendations on tripadvisor, went there for about 15min because it's not in the center just to discover that they only serve food from 1pm-2:30pm and close at 8. :(
