The rooms are very rustic, with lots of coarse wood, made from recycled railroad ties. They are also rather small, fairly common in a hostel. It was definitely unique in appearance with a funky vibe to it.
The clerk at the reception desk didn't speak much English and I speak very little Spanish. She did, however, have a computer with a web browser and internet connectivity, so she pulled up Google Translate and we managed to confirm she had rooms available and settle on price.
Most of the rooms open into a long atrium, with skylights at the top. The wall opposite all the rooms is concrete covered with stucco. The floors are all wood or tile. Are you seeing a problem, yet?
We retired early as we'd had a long day. Unfortunately, as other guests arrived and walked down the hall, dragged their luggage down the hall, carried on conversations and turned on their TVs, the sound echoed throughout the atrium. Guests were arriving at all hours of the night, so I got very little sleep.
