Only stayed here one night on our way from Punta Arenas to Santiago.
Had a sea view room... and the view was breathtaking. Staff are amazing, with great English skills. Breakfast was adequate in the continental buffet style. WiFi didn't work when we checked up, nor did wired internet, but it worked in the morning.
Overall great, would stay again.

Located directly above a mall with nice sea views, the Holiday Inn is in a good, central location. It offers free parking, WiFi as well as a decent breakfast. Our room was ok, standard u.s.-chain hotel room.

On the negative side was a shower that was installed so low that no normally sized adult could stand below it. Also we were surprised to find two ashtrays and a light, but distinct smell in a room that was specifically confirmed as a non-smoking one.

Overall, with a good rate the hotel offers fair value, but don't expect too much.

Stayed at this hotel for just one night but it was still a very nice stay. The front desk was quick and helpful, the room is extremely spacious and comfortable and the views are great.

Breakfast is also quite good and the restaurant, at the top floor has the greatest view. I would not stay anywhere else while in Puerto Montt.

One tip for the ones driving there. Once you pass the hotel, take the first left (crossing the street) or take the first right before the hotel (if you are driving in the same lane as the hotel) to access the parking lot. Go down one level and you will find an entrance to the hotel. There is nothing saying you should do that on the street so it is nice to know.

The hotel is "attached" to the best mall in the region. You are probably not travelling to Puerto Montt for shopping but, anyway, it is nice compared to the options around. Ripley has good prices and famous brands.

inteded to stay for 9 nights, turned out to be only 7. tried to talk to the manager about my options for a refund on day 3. did not hear from her nor even see her ever, although trying again for 2 days and being promised several times she would contact me.

ended up paying for the full 9-night-stay and being lied to about who's charging me what. no word from the manager, although my email address was put down for a "further review". this is definitely not a hotel for busines use - being this unflexible and unwilling to even talk to customers is just a dealbreaker.

I arrived around noon from Louisiana, USA and was surprisingly greeted in English. This was about the last time it would happen in Puerto Montt as I found out, not many locals speak English, nor should they. But Holiday Inn Express was able to help me find everything I needed whether inside the hotel or inside the city. I arrived via shuttle from the airport which was easily located as soon as you attempt to exit the airport 10 miles from Puerto Montt. I booked the highest room upgrade with Orbitz but when I got to the hotel, they had no idea. Had I not been able to produce some paperwork, I think I would have gotten a city view room with no balcony, which probably would have been OK, but they “had to look” and found an ocean view with a regular balcony, which should have been a large balcony. I was upset about that because I paid extra with Orbitz but as I’ve learned….any problem you have with your booking you take up with Orbitz, not the hotel. I will book with the hotels directly from now on. The room was great. Just like any I would get back in the states. One BIG difference though….Don’t forget to bring an adaptor if you bring anything that plugs in like your phone charger or laptop. I used the “Walkabout Solution” adaptor I found on the internet that was pretty cheap and found it invaluable in the airports that had recharging stations. Make sure it’s not just a plug adaptor but also a step-down voltage adaptor. The flat screen TV in the room was great only, as expected, not much English channels but some. I decided to watch TV on my laptop and found it strange that the user name and password that was given to me the first night didn’t seem right. It just looked funny. When I got to my room there were several “open” networks” and I logged into the one I was given and it worked fine but the next day I logged in, I left my computer logged in all night watching TV and when I woke up, bam. Not able to log in anywhere! I had to rely solely on my phone after that. Watch that! Make sure you are logging onto the hotels server! Everything you need is at the hotel as long as it is in reasonable hours. During the day you can get just about anything you need from the hotel lobby which is equipped with everything you need including a nice cold beer and a nice soft seat with a great view of the bay with plugs for your PC (220v). One thing kind of annoying, I am a Priority member of Holiday Inn and at first they told me I could not check in early (noon). Check in was at three. After traveling 20 hours, I waited till 2pm before they let me in!  After 8 or 9 pm you’re more or less on your own. Staying at a hotel with a mall and a huge grocery store has its advantages but you must take advantage of it while everything is open! I would not go walking around downtown after hours alone. In a group, maybe, but a friend of mine who lives there did not want me to walk alone after dark and ordered me a taxi. Ice is scarce. You can get it but it is from a machine on the lobby floor, 11th, and it is set up for one bucket at a time. So if you think you’re going to ice down a lot of beer, plan on making a lot of trips to the 11th floor. Overall, it’s a great place to stay, being from the US and not speaking the language. One tip though...I had ran out of Chilean Pesos and that is all the taxi’s take. The Holiday Inn was nice enough to order one for me and charge it to my room, BUT, the doorman did not know that and ushered me into a cab to the airport. When I got there I was surprised to find out, it wasn’t the one the hotel had ordered!! I gave him the number to the Holiday Inn but really, I heard the taxi driver say “airport” and that was the only word he knew!! Bad situation. One thing that got me out of a lot of binds was having the Google Translate app on my phone that allowed me to speak and have my phone speak it back in Spanish. And don’t count on having wifi and buy the global data plan for one month, believe me you will use it!

Room Tip: If your want a certain balcony, ask for it! City view, sea view, ask!

Four nights stay in October this year. My intention was to spend the days at Hotel Diego del Amagro, but after checking in I learned that the wi-fi was not functioning and the only room left was at second floor just above the reception - with a lot of noise from cars outside. In a few minutes I had rebooked and moved to Holiday Inn Express - and it was just terrific! Very friendly staff (not so at Diego del Amagro...), a spacious and airy room with a nice view, wi-fi with good capacity - and a mall in the same building for quick shopping. A very nice place to stay - although next time I will probably rather make a booking in Puerto Varas.

Easy check in, as a platinum points member and on honeymoon, we got upgraded to what must have been the best room in the hotel. We left something of sentimental value when we checked out and they were more than happy to have it shipped north to Santiago for us to pick up at the HI Express there, for no charge.
Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We had room 1117 which was dual aspect on the top floor over looking the water, a couple of hawks jo...
