“Angelmo Fish Market + crafts”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2013

Large fish and shell fish market that also has restaurant stalls, foods and crafts. Ten minute walk from bus station takes you past many artisans booths, marine installations, local cheese stalls before you reach fish market. Also many 'performers'- for your entertainment.

“Great Market”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2013

This is a real chilean Market. With fish, fruits, and restaurantes called "cocinerias" to eat. The food is so fresh here and it is an attraction in itself. There was even a music show inside the Market. Don't missed the cooked smoked salmon!

“eat and buy...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

Very pleasant surprise in Puerto Montt. Don't stay in downtown and don't go the the "select" beach...
Angélil has all : small eateries but you have to like seafood and a lot of shops to buy some "souvenirs"...

“I rank this a "do not miss"”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2013

The crafts are nothing special and quite expensive but if you want to see a wonderful fish market with variety of places to eat lunch, this is it. I doubt you will find fresher fish anywhere. We ate at a small restaurant that is located at the very back left hand side of the fish market. It is small and crowded but had the best "paila marina" I have ever tasted. If you haven't tried this, here is a good place to do it. It was chock full of fresh seafood, a meal in itself. My wife had the crab empanada and she ranked it the best dish of the trip. Hope you have a similar experience.

“Great fish market, craft shops a bit jaded”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2013

I really enjoyed the fish market, where people were busy shelling oysters and other seafood and gutting fish and fuit and veg all looked fresh and interesting. Seaweed also on sale. Hundreds of craft stalls line the seafront and market area, some tat, some stuff probably from China, but the rauli wood and some felt/knitted items were good.
Unfortunately we'd not consulted tripadvisor before our trip. We ate at an interestingly decorated restaurant, ordering the local dish, curantes. This a bowl piled high with chicken, pork, seafood and things like gelatinous pancakes. I have to say this one was very disappointing. Hope you can find one at a better restaurant.
