Owner description: Twenty-one slate covered pools with hot and cold thermal water in Chile's lake district.

Firstly, if you are close to these it's well worth a visit as there are many pools in different temperatures. However, if you are in Pucon think twice what you want - to me a relaxing day should not involve a 2 hour round trip in a minibus. This really took the enjoyment out of the day. The springs themselves are great - although they are large it is relaxing and enjoyable.

One of my highlights of Chile. The springs are located in Villarrica National Park in a tight secluded valley on the southern slopes of Villarrica volcano, and take a bit of a bumpy back-country road ride to get to. Admission is a bit on the pricey side compared to other springs in the area, but for good reason. These hot springs are simply the best.

With several dozen pools, all of varying temperatures, lined with slate and surrounded on all sides by local ferns and trees dangling over the pool, it's hard not to imagine being in a magical forest haven or some prehistoric locale. A truly wonderful experience. The pools can get crowded, but the springs are nice enough it doesn't even really matter.

Visiting this place was a highlight of my holiday in Chile. It is secluded and tranquil surrounded by a lush forest and the pools blend nicely into the scenery. Lots of different pools with varying temperatures and all surrounded by rocks, trees and plants. Clean facilities. My husband and I went in early December and there were a few people in most of the pools but it didn't feel too crowded. Food was simple but fresh and well-prepared. We spent about four hours there and the time went quickly as we enjoyed ourselves so much. Overall it was a wonderful, relaxing experience and a welcome break after action-filled days of horse-riding and canopying. Hope to go back there one day.

This was definatly the highlight of my travels round Chile! We visited when it was about 13°c and the hot pools were so nice! Was clean and tidy and the food was delicious. Expensive but worth every penny!

What to do when it rains and you are sightseeing? Go to hot spring!
Very well designed, beautiful, clean! And if you arrive before noon, the entrance is cheaper and is less crowded.
We loved it!
