This is the second time I stayed in La Nuez. and I have to say it was just as wonderful as the last time!! The first time I visited was during the high season (late January/early February) with a small group of friends. This time it was a group of about 15 students and it was the low-season. Both times the quality was incredible. Of all the hostels I've stayed in La Nuez is definitely the best! The location is perfect, right off the main road (O'Higgins), just a few minutes walk from the bus terminal and a block or two a way from all the best restaurants and the "heart" of the city. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and just overall beautiful. The living/dining room is decorated in such a way that you feel at home and just want to spend hours in front of the fire talking, reading, relaxing. The owners (Carola and Fernando) are absolutely wonderful; they help you with anything you need whether it be making a reservation for a tour or a recommendation for a vegetarian-friendly restaurant. They love what they do and it shows in the care they put into every detail and ensuring that you have the best stay possible. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Room Tip: All the rooms are great, personally, I prefer the first floor where the double rooms have a private bathroom!

We loved our time at Hostal La Nuez. The kitchen is huge and great for cooking, the beds are fabulous, the fields out back are gorgeous, and the common area is really comfortable. Breakfast is great too. Best of all though are Fernando, Carola, and their kids -- they are so fun and friendly that after a day or so you feel like you are staying with friends. We stayed with our toddler, and she was so happy there that we felt terrible taking her to a normal hotel after that!

I stayed there for 3 nights...
Fernando, Carola his wife and Suki are very lovely people, nice, helpful, kind...
They love to talk, have a drink with you, and will help for everything you need.
You feel like at home when you stay at La Nuez!
Breakfast is yummy.
Just give it a try !!

Room Tip: I had the room "la Roble", upstairs, with 4 beds... Just great beds but you can hear the noise from the street!
