We booked through this agency for a day trip to Geometricas and the following day a trip up to the Volcano. The french delegation are very friendly, the guides were fab for the volcano. I'll start with the Geometricas..
Aguaventura basically subcontracted this out- had nothing to do with them. Felt the price was VERY steep - $35K. We were told by them the bus ride out would be about an hour and 15 min. - in actual fact it was closer to 2.5 hours. (would have been nice to know in advance). So we had 3 hours in the pools. They also said to bring a lunch if we wanted - but there was food there. We were not told, however that you are not allowed to EAT your lunch there. This would also have been nice to know. Geometricas itself was a fab place, no complaints but it's a bit of a trek getting there. We did mention this to one of the guys there and he seemed to genuinely care.

Villaricca - this they said they ran from start to finish and for the same price is much more bang for your buck $47K includes all technical gear, expert guides. They kept a good pace matched with our group of about 24 - and took breaks regularly enough. My only minor comment here is that no one every mentioned the difficulty of the climb, one's ability, etc. It's assumed that if you want to climb a volcano, you know what you're in for. The ski lift was not working, so we had no choice but to walk the extra hour up hill - it took us almost 6 hours to get to the top and it's a tough climb. You'd better be in decent if not good shape. Sadly, we got to the top and the crater was covered in cloud - our weather was not the best. I think the badge of honor is really in just making it to the top. The butt sliding back down was good fun - the views are stunning. It could be a somewhat dangerous climb for some - but again, there were enough guides that a few people from our group returned early - and there was a guide to take them down. Would recommend the Volcano trip with these guys - they rock. But know what you're getting in to!!!

An excellent agency. The staff is very friendly and competent, working with professional guides and instructors. We did the Villarica volcano and the Nevado Canyoning, everything was perfect : well organized, good equipment, and activities were awesome. We recommend to contact them for your stay in Pucón.

We climbed the volcano with this company on February 3, 2013. The trip is not cheap, but definitely worth it. The guides were extremely professional, and quietly let the large group – well over 15 people – sort itself out by ability, such that stronger climbers could go more quickly with less energetic people able to ascend at their own comfortable pace, with all groups having a guide. The summit, we put on the extensive protective gear provided by the company, including very strange looking plastic mini sleds which were very helpful in the incredible Glissade– probably 800 vertical meters – which followed. The guides took care to monitor people's Glissades, and it was giggles and grins on the downhill for all. At the end of our trip, we were given some beer on a small deck at the company's offices, with a smashing view of the volcano we had climbed, A wonderful way to close an incredibly memorable day. This trip is highly, highly recommended.

Had an amazing experience climbing the Vllarrica volcano with Aguaventura and then sliding back down, which was different to anything we had done before.

The trip seemed quite expensive at 46,000 Pesos per person, but we didn´t shop around so we don´t know how it compares to the other companies. However, it can be a risky activity so it´s best to go with someone reputable and Aguaventura are recommended in Lonely Planet and by our hostel owners. They turned out to be competent and safe.

The equipment they provided was generally good, although some of it was a bit worn and could do with replacing soon. The guides were good and very professional. They are probably one of the best companies to go with.

I did the trek up Villarica volcano with Aguaventura this January and all went smoothly. The number of guides is more than adequate, and they provide sufficient guidance. The only problem I had was with the weight of the equipment needed to slide down : I did not expect having to carry a 15-kg backpack up the mountain and no one mentioned it when I registered for the hike.
