Surf Bay is 10 minutes outside of Stanley and offers about a mile of Falkland Islands white sand. Its a location favored location by locals for dog walking and getting some fresh air. Like most of the Falkland Islands the beach is very wind sweep however if you head towards north of the beach you can usually find a sheltered spot to relax or as I prefer build a sand castle.

Despite this beach been popular with locals this isn't like any beach in Europe, like the rest of the Falklands busy means about 5 people in total on the beach.

My advise, go, walk up and down the beach and feel the wind in your hair!

If at Stanley on the Falklands ,As we were on a tour of the island we passed this wonderful bay on the Airport rd ,mines from the Falklands War are still being found on the shoreline .

Visit Stanley and enjoy the relaxed unhurried atmosphere of a town where the next stop is Antartica or South Georgia. Coffee, cake and homemade beer all available.

Not far outside of Stanley, this is a beautiful, pristinely clean beach. On a sunny day, you can see dolphins playing in the waves. We have also seen a king penguin on the beach. The sea is cold (well it isn't far from antarctica) but that didn't stop my children from having a paddle. Lovely sand dunes to run up and slide down (again the kids not me). Would definitely recommend

This bay is on the Airport Road going out of Stanley and has been cleared of mines so that unlike Yorke Bay and Gypsy Cove, you can walk on the lovely white sand beach. The name is apt as you can get fantastic views of the surf breaking in the bay. Probably quite good for surfing. There are huge sand dunes - bigger than myself. As well as rocks to climb up to get good views. There are also some interesting birds that can be seen in the area, including bright red chested meadowlarks, geese and shags. Nearby (at Hookers Point) there is a memorial to the sinking of HMS Glamorgan from 1982.
