“Think twice before eating here, there are better value places for seafood”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

We had a very bad experience at this restaurant mainly due to incompetent and rude staff. There were 4 of us and 2 ordered Chilli Crabs, the others ordered other seafood dishes which were served quite quickly but the crabs were no where to be seen, the others had finished eating and when we kept requesting our food, the waitress became aggressive and defensive about their lack of service. Finally after receiving food, which was quite good they gave us the bill for another table. It was a very unpleasant experience and so unlike the generally professional service you receive in Singapore, they just don't care because they are in a sort after location. Better to stroll to Boat Quay if you still want a riverside location.

“Good food appalling service and attitude”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2013

Four of us ate here just prior to New Year - my first visit but repeat for our friends. Great location but what a poor experience. Two of us had to wait for an hour after the other two
meals had been served, there was no service attention at all and I personally felt a distinct
bad attitude to non Asians. The food was good but totally spoiled by not only bad service but total lack of any concern and patronising. We were then given the wrong bill and no-one would listen or cared (it belonged to another numbered table) and finally after much disdain we were given a bill.......on checking later we discovered we had been charged for an extra Chilli Crab and an extra beer plus the service charges which amounted to an additional $81.00. Could not recommend this place unless you totally alert to all of this and happy just to pay and enjoy the
view. It was a very expensive experience.

“About the crab”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2013

We had dinner at Quayside. A superb location in Clarke Quay. We ordered Black Pepper Crab, Prawns Indonesian Style and fried rice. The food was very tasty, prawns cooked to perfection and crab delightful.

“The essence of Singapore seafood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2012

I've been going to Quayside Seafood ever since my first visit to Singapore 15 years ago (it was a smaller restaurant then). Their most popular dish is the Singapore Chilli Crab.
I eat a lot and a normal meal for me there would be Bamboo Clams with garlic, Prawns with dry red chillies, stir fried Kayla, and my favorite Barbecued Sting ray with Sambal....
A glass or two of wine or cold draft beer with the food and some Calamansi juice at the end.
If I'm with family and friends, a big chilly crab is also a must.

“Good food, nice location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

It would rate it as good but not very good hence I prefer to rank it average.
The location is very nice: right on Clarke Quay river. The restaurant offers a good selection of Chinese seafood dishes ranging from Lobster to bamboo clamps.
The wine list is pretty basic and sometime the service is a bit too slow. The food is however of good quality, with good variety and in very big portion.
You need to be careful on what you order because you risk to leave food on the table. The size of the dishes is really abundant. The the small fried rice is good for 2-3 people at least!

The restaurant is not cheap and probably for the same money you may find something even better however it is located in one of the most popular location hence you will pay for it as well and not only for your lobster!
