Sunday morning dawdle around the East Coast on my uncool ( ask my kids) fold up bicycle. Had heard of this place and sort of stumbled upon it. Funky ( or run down depending on your perspective) space. Fully intended to have some sort of big fry up- I had ridden a leisurely 5 kms. Spotted gluten free pancakes on the menu. As a celiac I feel I have to support any effort by Singapore establishments to offer GF alternatives. Was going to order them with bacon but the Heath Nazi ( sorry wife's) voice was ringing in my head so went for mixed fruit instead. Was banana, strawberries and somewhat oddly quarters of Apple. Now if you are used to pancakes made with that mystical magical ingredient wheat, you will be disappointed by these BUT as GF pancakes go these were better than many I have had. Ordered there home made ginger beer as had already had a bucket of cappuccino at Rabbit Carrot Gun. Was good with a nice bit of heat from the ginger. Nice little spot quite different from the usual spots in SG.

We used to stay a lane away and often ate here before our 7 year posting to China. So it was nice to be able to come back and see that the owners are still around and it is still a laid-back place to chill out.

If you bring your dogs, you can hang out at the tables outside.

We had the cowboy burger and the Meatball Melt. The meat used in both was good quality, though I wished that the meatballs were larger as they tended to be a little dry. I loved the roasted peppers and chilli slices in the stew, which livened it up.

We also ordered the lychee soda, which was very refreshing, and the tea tisane. Both were a little pricey, but i guess that is par for the course in Singapore eateries nowadays.

Even at 230 pm on a Saturday, the restaurant was 2/3rds full. Service was warm and quick.

We had some friends for dinner and looked for somewhere close by to take out. We found the garden slug online. They were very accommodating and we ordered over the phone and collected 20 minutes later. Food was well prepared and portions were generous. Packing was also good. When we collected food surroundings were not the salubrious by cannot fault on food and value.
