Decided on this place since i was in flip flops. Queued up for a while for a table and got 1 after 10 mins. Along purvis street, this may be a pre-war house and probably not renovated since. Pictures of hollywood stars hang together with the thai royal family and chinese paintings. Hilarious

Asked about the chefs and owners, and they are a mix of thais and chinese

Ordered the classic thai dishes - tom yum, fish cake, seafood omelette and green curry. Ate here with a thai friend and we agreed that the omelette and fish cake are authentic. The other 2 were only 80% authentic. The presentation and ingredients used were very home-cooked and very straightforward. Like a hawker stall

The bill for 2 was $50. For the ambience and presentation, i think somewhat overpriced. Not impressed enough to return i think

Nice decoration. Non-fancy atmosphere in open, non-aircon space. Portions are big and the food is quite good. You get good value for money here. One point is deducted for the unfriendly service (not a single smile, all staff appear totally uninterested).
Do not forget to pass by an ATM before visiting since only cash payment is accepted.

This restaurant serves authentic thaifood. The green curry, omelette, tom yam taste differernt here. The price is reasonable. Not a place or price to expect excellent service; friendly staff nonetheless.

Love the atmosphere in this place. No air con, which is a relief in crazy-frozen Singapore. Not in a mall. which is also great. Tom Yum soup is spicy and great. So is most of the food. Love the chicken with cashew nuts.
Gret dessert during lunch times.
schedule is a bit tight so we always have to rush to get there on time.
We always go there with frends who vist from abroad and everyone loves it.

This is one of the last authentic Thai restaurant standing in Spore. In the olden days, a typical Thai restaurant would be something like that(coz weather was much better back then....lol)...i am a Thai working here so I know. Food is great. What the Thais eat are : green curry, papaya salad, vegetable omelette, belachan rice, pork with basil, iced milk tea, iced coffee, phad thai, Tom yum....its a simple and back to basics place, if you want to escape from the 21century time zone....simply magnificent place to go in back in time...no modern technology here....
