For travellers Singapore is a dream easy to use train system that is quick, easy and very clean.

Also brilliant bus network system that works in perfect harmony with train systems.

And not that expensive only about $20 for 3 day pass.

It is illegal to eat, drink or chew gum in the trains or even in the stations I think. This results in a clean environment. No trash or litter anywhere to be seen. I love it! We took the metro from the airport to our hotel with no issues what so ever. Really easy to understand.

The best form of public transport I’ve experienced around the world. The large SMRT will take you literally anywhere on the island and runs constantly throughout the day. Also incredibly clean and cool in the central stations despite the high number of users.

No need to take taxis. The MRT is fast efficient spotless and cheap. We purchased a 3 day unlimited pass for S$20 plus 10 deposit returned when you return the card. The stations are air conditioned as well as the cars. Signs and announcements are in English. The subway is self driving. We felt very safe at anytime of day.

I tried to buy the 3 day tourist pass at the closest MRT station to the place we were staying. They do not sell them there. They can only be bought at a limited number of stations. So, had to buy a regular card, use it to get to the airport, and there I could buy the 3 day pass (there are other places to buy it, but not near our hotel). The cars on the subway are air conditioned. Most stations have escalators, so climbing steps is rarely required. One may have to go up or down a level or two to change between lines. One may also have to walk some distance in one station to change lines. Some cars are better than others for marking where one is and what is up coming. Make sure you get a map of the lines (can be on cell phone or paper map).
