It's like other food hawker centre in Singapore, but at least this one is open 24hrs, altough not all the stalls open 24hrs, but still, it gives you choices to eat , even at 1 AM.
And most of all it was across the street with Kam Leng Hotel.

In one of the Chinese restaurants there, I ordered a rice meal with one meat and two veggies for just under SGD 3.00. This definitely is for the budget traveler who is not fond of the expensive food offered around Singapore.

I tried and liked duck (goose) with white rice. Since my hotel didn't has restaurant, I had my breakfast in food courts.

Very good loacl food hall on Lavender Road.
Mostly full of locals with only a few tourists, always agood sign.
Food was great. Lots of small outlets offering a massive variety of asian foods with communal tables in the middle.
Good fresh seafood places plus lots of chicken, duck, pork & noodle type stalls with several unusual foods too including turtle soup and a stall specialising in a sort of frog porridge.
We had chilli crab from the Guan Lee Sen Seafood stall. It was amazingly good and couldn't be frasher as the crabs were live in their tank at the front. All good value, also has fried pork/rice which was only 5 singapore dollars.
Beers can be bought from the stall in the centre and drunk at your table. The really big bottles of Tiger were about the equivalent of 3 uk pounds.
Very friendly atmosphere, seemed very safe for tourists. It doesn't look that much from the outside, but just get on in there and enjoy some really great, authentic chinese food.
Highly recommended.
