The Pump Room on Clarke Quay is in the heart of tourist Singapore but don't be put off by that. When you've tired of Indo-Chine-Thai food this is a good place to get a shot of red meat and beer! Actually the micro-brewed beer is a bit of an acquired taste but the steaks were wonderful.
I had New Zealand Grass Fed ‘Savannah’ Black Angus Beef Sirloin, straightforward meat with a no-frills attitude, and my wife had Beef rib braised with India pale ale rested on pommes puree and India pale ale battered deep- fried asparagus. Wonderful. All were promptly served - which is what we were looking for. Prices weren't cheap but remember you're in a tourist area and there's a premium to pay. The food was worth every cent!
