“Ok food”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

We went for Indian food and someone recommended the Banana Left Apollo. The service was ok, a little too pushy wanting to get the order going. Being new to Indian food, more time is needed to decipher the menu. My wife likes hot and I do not. The meal you use the banana leaf as the dish. I had the butter chicken which is chicken in this wonderful thick sauce, with rice and bread. It was the hit of this meal. My wife fumbled around and ordered a vegetable sampler. Indian food is cooked down, so most all the small dishes were mush, she liked the hot but there was no substance to her meal. There is an abundance of rice served so no one goes hungry. So the experience was just ok and it was something to do. I just left wondering if there is a better food else where.

“Simple and real indian food experience”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

A very informal indian restaurant with a quite large choice of dishes, good food and reasonable prices (not cheap, and the fact that they charge you for water and wet towels is somehow irritating).
You eat on a real banana leaf and rice is served continuously, just ask for it. The place is often crowded and quite noisy. If you prefere a less noisy place, and with much less tourists, go to the other Banana Leaf Apolo, in Serangoon.

“Excellent and Affordable”
Reviewed March 21, 2013

An excellent choice in Singapore for Indian food and atmosphere. A very Indian mix of crowded family eating, formica decor, and high-tech (interactive menus on an iPad) at a very affordable price (less than 25 SGD per person).

“Spicy!”
Reviewed March 19, 2013

Fantastic and tasty cuisine at an affordable price. The atmosphere and interiors look a bit cheap, but if you don't mind cafeteria-type settings then go for it. The food was quite spicy, but still very good. Great place to eat if you are in to spicy indian food.
