It was a nice sightseeing experience in the so-called Merlion Park along with the great view of Singapore flyer and Marina Bay Sand. The tour guide said that the Merlion Statue there was the first and original statue in Singapore. On the other side of the park, One Fullerton Hotel is situated, wherein the great architecture attracts the tourist too... I really enjoyed this place..

If you're in Singapore and have not paid a visit to this place, then you cannot consider yourself as having been to Singapore. The park, which is home to Merlion a half-fish half-lion creature, symbolise Singapore's great achievements just under 50 years.

If you're visiting the park during a sunny day, do bring along an umbrella as it can get very hot under the sun. You can also stop by the One Fullerton, which is adjacent to the park, for some great dining and entertainment experience.

The Merlion is one of the top tourist attractions in Singapore. It is a huge statute of a half-lion, half-fish, that spouts tons of water out of its mouth constantly. It is slightly tacky but a must-see. The surrounding park is nice, and the best part is the view of the bay and marina and the overwhelming and futuristic Marina Bay Sands across the bay, which consists of three very tall buildings all the same height with a huge boat filled with trees on the top. Now that was an awesome sight!

A visit to the Merlion, the icon of Singapore, needs to be included on the itinerary of any trip. It is busy around-the-clock, though early in the morning (about 8-ish onwards) the venue can be quite clogged with tour groups. If you go in the middle of the day, perhaps pop to the Asian Civilisation Museum afterwards to cool down, or take the Elizabeth Walk across the bay, rather than the bridge, where you will be very exposed to the sun. Fantastic views of Singapore, Marina Bay Sands, the city and Theatres on the Bay to be had, in addition to that perfect pic with the Merlion as well.
