“It's got to be done”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

Definitely agree with other reviewers that Merlion Park has been vastly improved in the last few years. All the construction in the immediate vicinity has added an air of sophistication but I do slightly miss the old carefree waterfront that was so family-friendly. And because this is Singapore where food is never far from our thoughts, several restaurants now vie for one's attention.

The Merlion, being the symbol of Singapore (there's another one on Sentosa Island), takes centre stage and probably appears in a million photos. It's not something I'm totally fond about - it's touristy, it's tacky...but it's got to be done.

“A key monument in Singapore”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

Merlion is one of the most famous landmarks in Singapore and one's trip to Singapore is considered uncompleted if this place is not checked.

The place give a great view of the Marina bay on one side and the Industrial estate on the other side. The Merlion does look much bigger in real when compared to the photos.

Honestly, apart from few photo clicks there is nothing much to do at this place. But definitely worth a stop. Why miss posing before the Merlion and taking a snap for lifetime.

“Nice Place to Sooth Your Tired Legs..!”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

It's like a park with a Merlion statue, but the Merlion is not as big as the one in Sentosa Island. There's a bench everywhere so it's a nice place to relax a bit before you continue your exploration of the city. There's an ice cream stall nearby, so go buy an ice cream, rest for a while and take a photo or two of you and the Merlion.

Downside: The place can be really crowded with people who wants to take photos.

“The Merlion”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

The Merlion is so much bigger in real life. So many people must have had their photo taken here, and now we have as well. Cool. The history of the Merlion is interesting as well. Check it out. Singapore is such a great place
