We love coming to this club, food is good and price is reasonable service is attentive even when they are extremely busy. On top my husband can enjoy his cigar near the golf course. ISCC designates a place for smoker and it is not hot because they have fan and natural breezes
Played this morning on the Island Course. It was an overcast day with occasional drizzle but otherwise pleasant (apart from the humidity!)
Immaculate grounds and greens. Course can be challenging without local knowledge but had good partners willing to share:). The clubhouse serves really good food and shower/locker room facilities are excellent.
Thoroughly enjoyed the morning and the company even though the golf was average!!
Food choices for our last night in Singapore was again handed over to the expert hands of my Guru foodie friend. With his charming wife coming along to keep us company, we were driven through some remote country side roads, some with monkeys lining the side - Yes! Baby King Kongs! to the exclusive ' Singapore Island Country Club '. The place is absolutely gorgeous with distant forest, rolling green hills and golf course, Olympic size swimming pool and patios with magnificent views for al fresco dining.
Did my friend over ordered again? You bet!! This time an endless parade of local favorite comfort food. Satays, Laksa, Rojak, Hokkien Mien, Carrot cakes....you name it, he ordered it! So much food...but so good!
A lovely place for a potpourri of local S.E Asian cuisine!
This is simply a first class restaurant with beautifully presented and brilliantly cooked food. The service is discrete and highly professional, always there when needed and never intrusive. A wonderful meal with friends. Fabulous.
Had reunion dinner with the boyf's extended family. We went in a big group, about 40 of us. Members-exclusive only, so the ambiance was good, not crowded and definitely a comfortable place to dine in. Food was definitely of good quality, except the Yu Sheng, which had a bitter after taste. After investigating, it turned out to be the coriander that contributed to that bitter after taste. What mattered was that when we gave feedback about the bitter taste, the waitresses keep denying at first, that there was something not very right about the dish. We had to ask every table of our guests and had majority agree that that there was the bitter after taste, that the restaurant was willingly to find out what gave that taste. Other than this small incident, the overall dining experience was good for a first-timer like me.
If you happen to dine here, don't forget to try their yummy red bean pancake - not too sweet but sweet enough to mark a sweet end to your visit :)
In spite of its beautiful grounds, there's no point in joining SICC unless you play golf: The club facilities are decent, but it's really out of town. However, the dining is top among Singapore clubs, and we're pleased anytime we get invited to Silk, for it compares favourably with the better Cantonese restaurants in Singapore - amazing to find such quality in a private club, really. Nothing terribly creative, just quite refined, reliable and solid. Good wine list. Competent service.
