Nice hotel set in an old Singaporean building. The rooms aren’t big but are more than adequate for the price you pay and for a few nights stay. The location is good, right next to Outram Park Subway station and only a few minutes’ walk to China town and just down the road from Baba House which is a wonderful place to visit. The buffet breakfast is adequate but not fantastic and caters to Asian and western tastes. I loved that they have free coffee and biscuits in the dining area, which was nice to have after a days sightseeing.

Hotel is in a good location in Chinatown. Very short walk to MRT station. Big bus tour stop is 1 street away. Close walk to restaurants, seven eleven and shopping

Room is quite small in size which is normal for Singapore. Everything was fine, bed was comfortable however the AC was very noisy and I was unable to switch it off even manually as it kept turning on. Secondly NO HOT WATER for the duration of my stay. Had to boil water from the kettle and pour into the bathroom sink to have hot water. Not ideal. Reception was not helpful on this situation

Breakfast is okay, first day had some Vienna sausage and toast and second day was eggs. Toast, preserves and cereals always available. Some people I know would complain and say the breakfast is not adequate but you get what you pay for and besides it's expensive Singapore.

Hotel has free Nespresso coffee, and tea with cookies at all times of the day so you can just help yourself.

Thank you for a good stay

The hotel is well located for easy wandering in Chinatown and great access to the Chinatown and Outram Park MRT stations, which get you everywhere. The hotel is generally what we expected re: smallish rooms, but it was clean and the staff were friendly. The breakfast is simple and western, but is a nice extra, and it was nice having access to coffee, tea and snacks throughout the day, as well as a water cooler to fill our bottles. Adding some steamed buns etc would be a nice addition. Also as we had to leave early many days for our races, we couldn't access it as it wasn't available until 7:30. Having even just the coffee and cold cereal available earlier would have been great for us.

Unfortunately all of this was overshadowed by an incident the hotel never resolved. On our first day there (after one night), when we came back after the room had been cleaned, my pyjama top was missing. It was quite colourful and hard to miss, especially in white sheets. I brought this to the staff's attention, and though they apologized and talked with cleaning staff and laundry staff (to see if it got rolled up in the sheets), they did not locate it. I was there one week, and though they would update me and apologize every few days, nothing was found. What was more of an issue, was that they didn't seemed overly concerned that something went missing from a customer's room, other than to keep apologizing. When we were leaving, with it still missing, there was no follow up or compensation offered. I have even followed up since by email, with no response. For this reason, I cannot recommend, nor would I stay here again if I return.

Room tip: The street noise into the night from the bars across the street got loud. I suggest earplugs for sleeping or a room not facing the street.

This hotel is not suitable for family at all and especially if you have a child with you. Alot of pubs nearby which makes us feel unsafe during our stay. Hotel is old and rooms are small. Overall poor experience, will not visit again

Only spent a night since I had an early meeting 2 blocks away from here....loved the location, close enough from all the action in Chinatown yet away from the crowds and noise...5-minute walk to Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Maxwell Food Centre...Potato Head and small casual bars just a block away...7-11 just a few shops up...use MRT in Chinatown or Outram Park direct to Changi...really can’t beat the location...the room and especially bathroom quite small as all the others in this area...but who really stays in the room when in S’pore?
