“Very comfortable hotel”
Reviewed June 23, 2014

We recently enjoyed a two night Singapore Stopover holiday through Singapore Airlines and chose the Royal at Queens for our hotel. It is very well positioned in a quiet area but less than 5 minutes stroll to the Bras Basah MRT station and 15 minutes walk to the Raffles Plaza. Our room was comfortable and the staff very efficient and courteous who allowed us to use our room from 1100 on the first day after the long flight from London. The Singapore stopover with the attractions package is such great value - transport from the airport to hotel and return and entry to all the main attractions that Singapore has to offer plus the hop on hop off bus all included at a fraction of the cost of doing the package yourself.

Room Tip: We have stayed at this hotel on two occasions and both rooms were well sound proofed with very comfo...

Stayed for 4 nights at The Royal at Queens, Singapore. Although rated as a 4 star business hotel, I felt it was typically a 3 star hotel. Shower area was extremely small and you could barely fit between the shower curtain and wall. There was nothing to hang clothes on in the bathroom. The breakfast which was priced at Sing $ 30 was a complete rip off with quite bad a breakfast. The hotel is located in a quiet area, 50m to a MRT station (Bras Basah) which is not on the main line. Therefore every journey needed a change in stops from Dhoby Ghaut which was quite a pain.

Room Tip: Do not take a breakfast package! Breakfast is quite bad!

Approximately 30 meters from the hotel entrance is the Bras Basah MTR station which is connected to 3 other major MTR lines which makes it a really good base to go around the City. The Singapore Art Museum is a few steps away where you will find a cafe, there are two actually, one across and another to the right of the Hotel's entrance.Walk about 150 meters to the left of the hotel and you will find a shopping mall with restaurants and a 711 at the ground floor. a 20 minute walk will take you to Haji Lane in the Arab street area where the indie and quaint shops are. Breakfast is buffet, food quality is average but with a variety of choices. The room we stayed in was very clean and modern and just right for three people. Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful.

We stayed in this hotel on the way to Russia and also on our return to rest up before continuing our journey home. The staff at reception were very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was enjoyable. This hotel is five minutes walk to large shopping mall, not far from Raffles and eateries. Good value and well situated.

Stayed at this property June 2014. Wanted to have a base to explore Singapore so did not need a resort experience. Was extremely pleased with the accommodation, service, and location.
Queen street is very close to Bugis Street shopping, and a short walk into Orchard Road. Singapore Airlines Hop-on Hop-off bus service stops close by, and the hotel is on the tour pick-up map if you are into guided events. We had a nice 16th floor room, though was under the roof fans and a little noisy it was not too intrusive. Magic view.
Nice room, good bathroom, though I don't like shower curtains as splash retainers.
Great bed, and good aircon.
Staff were very helpful, polite and friendly. Organised a couple of tours for us, though were not obliged to do so as there is nothing in it for the hotel.
Breakfast was VG, though there was quite a rush with thehotel being quite full. Nice meal
We were granted an extra three hours delay in check out which helped us get organised without too much rush. We will return.
Thanks Royal@Queens.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have great views.

This was our first time at this hotel, we were made to feel very welcome on arrival and check in and check out was so quick. Our room was on 6th floor and large compared to others we have used in Singapore. Hotel is right next to an MRT station.
Bugis street markets are only up the street and shops on Orchard road and little India are close by. You can walk or catch MRT to avoid the heat.
This hotel had a lovely pool however we ran out fo time to use it. reception staff will call taxi for you anytime. Only $18.00 by taxi from airport to hotel.
We had breakfast included and this was also very good with a lot of variety too. Plenty of seating and as it was a buffet you just helped yourself. You never felt rushed.
we found the remote in room did not work and the lights are operated on a panel switch and we couldnt turn the lights off. we rang reception and within minutes the technician had arrived at door and fixed all the issues within 5 minutes of climbing in the manhole. This was also at 10.45 pm at night so cannot fault their service at all.
We got a good price on intenet for this hotel and we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

Room Tip: All rooms would have a similar view so just go for the best price you can get.

If one is looking for an excellent hotel in the heart of the city within reasonable budget, Hotel Royal at Queens should definitely be one among offering the best value.

The check in is smooth and with warm smiles. The room was clean, comfortable and the toilet was reasonably spacious and clean. Breakfast was good and though the menu really doesn't change much, one can use different options each day. The location is very good, MRT station is just outside the hotel , so are the bus stops which makes commuting across Singapore very convenient and cost saving.

The dining options near the hotel are just great. From fine dining to the large number of restaurants on Bugis street, one will never run out of variety. Bugis street is great for shopping and is a must visit.

The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. One should not expect lavish 5 star luxury here, and the hotel will satisfy the family traveller's needs (with young children as we'll ) fully.

I am definitely looking forward to stay there again.
