Got some great scenic pics but the boat ride is not great value for $18 each. The commentary, which is on a DVD that is played during the trip, is somewhat cheesy.

The Singapore River is the heart of the city and we are so pleased to have included this 45 minute Bumboat tour in our holiday itinerary because it knitted together the various parts of the whole. Having walked a lot in the city as well as using the MRT bus and rail to get around, the river ride showed us just how close all the key sights in the city are to one another and that it is the Singapore River that unites them. Recommended.

Our evening boat cruise in Singapore was very enjoyable, mainly since it did not accompany the noise of the diesel engine. Later we learnt that these cruise boats operate on batteries and at the Quay, there are plug points for charging the batteries. A great idea, saves to tourists of the noise and more importantly keeps the river free of diesel pollution.

The commentary could have been better managed, rather than pausing it every now and then as the boat glides along.

We thoroughly enjoyed the bumboat ride. It was great for taking photos and we only had about 7 people on the whole boat so it was easy to move about. Do go on the front deck for photography. The "tour guide" did just advance the DVD player but it is informative and tells you what you're looking at. The driver was kind to drop us off at the Fullerton Hotel for lunch so if you want to be let off somewhere just ask. We thought this was a great way to see things and the breeze was nice while we were there. The boats are lovely with their little red lanterns. I would definitely recommend.

Short and sweet and all you need to get a feel for the city from the water. We went from boat quay to Clarke quay via marina bay. Best photo opportunities of all the major sites from the water such as Marina Bay Sands and historic buildings like the Fullerton Hotel. Also a great view of the merlion.
