“You can even touch the planes !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2012

Very good education tour for children, esp for those who like planes and helicopters. It has a good exihibition hall and a real plane display. You get to come up close to the plane for good photo shoots. Don;t forget to attend the SAF introduction slide show in the theater. Most of all, it;s free :)
Getting there may be a problem as there's no train service, either by public bus or taxi or self-drive.

“Air force museum”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2012

It was rather interesting to know more about the air force history but without a guide we hardly know what it is about other then the fact that these were used in the past. Explanation was too short & a lack of hands on interactive games or screens made the trip very boring.

“A bit small”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2012

Relatively small as compared to the various other air forces museums. Located next to Paya Lebar Airbase, the museum houses various ex-RSAF planes and helicopters. You can see the following aircraft at the ground floor in-door static park - Hawker Hunter, Strikemaster, A-4S Skyhawk, T-33, UH-1B, Alouette III, Bloodhound missile and the unique TA-4S (modified trainer version of the A-4 with two separate canopies) front section. The museum has a small shop at the ground floor and there is a small, non-air conditioned eatery / food stall that sells fried rice, pork chop with fries (and some others) at the third level. You will have to walk pass the officer's mess to get there if you take the lift though (and it might be closed due to air force activities). At the 2nd level, there are various exhibits, showcasing the RSAF beginings till recently, though not the latest. A nice place to find out about the RSAF.

“Small Museum About RSAF”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2012

Went there in June 2012 with a group of secondary school students. First visit was in Nov. 2010.

Pros :
a) Interesting if you are an air force fan. 30 mins is enough to view all the exhibits. 60 mins. if you go into details.
b) Next to Paya Lebar Air Base with public bus access.
c) Small shop selling souvenirs and model planes. Price is reasonable.
d) Exhibits well maintained.

a) Exhibit too few compare with those in developed air forces.
b) Exhibits don't change much. Almost the same every year.
c) Small shop sells only drinks and snack.

There is no incentive for re-visit because the exhibits hardly change. A good way to introduce the RSAF to kids. Not a must see.
