I visited the store one late evening when the store was just closed. Fortunately found a beautiful lady sitting quietly doing some work. Store was empty. I knocked and she opened with a smile to say that the store was closed. But maybe because I looked tired and badly needed a drink, she offered me a place to sit and ask if I wanted a drink. Of course I said yes. Much travel and intensity made me a seeker of places where I can literally chill and hang without hassles.
She apologised that she is closed but would have loved to offer me something more if not because all the staff had left. I looked around and found unusual items on display and lighting on the ceiling that was designed specifically for effect. She offered to give me a tour. Wow, did I then realised what a treasure cove of intimate small details the owner had placed on the shop. Everything from classy retail trinkets, food menus, drinks and even specially designed chairs to fit the different corners. Each floor I went presented itself with a different aspect of Claire, the owner. So I mumbled on about how much this reflected a most unusual and warm personality of the owner. Her style and grace showed in the displays, the selection of teas, biscuits and the ideas that went to each of offerings in the shop.
Impressed I was. Totally zinged. I finished my drink and left thanking her.
" Sorry I did not introduce myself and did not get your name?" I asked her to bid good bye.
" Oh, I am Claire and this is my place. Make it yours and your corners of choice. Thank you for sharing my zing!"
My, what more can I ask for ? Will I go back again? Absolutely.
