Owner description: St Andrew’s Cathedral is one of Singapore’s most treasured works of architecture. Gazetted as a national monument on 1973, you’ll stand in awe at its majestic facade, with extended pinnacles and a glossy white exterior. Take a coffee break and enjoy our free wifi at The Cathedral Cafe which is conveniently located beside the City Hall MRT entrance (North Bridge Road).

Unlike some religious houses in Singapore this is clearly a working church not just a tourist destination. However, it is still possible to sit and contemplate the beauty and grandeur of the space while worshipers come and go and not feel you are intruding. Very peaceful.

St Andrew's Cathedral is the biggest in Singapore and situated right next to City Hall MRT. I took a wonderful stroll there after my visit to the Merlion Statue. The Cathedral is simply beautiful! I was lucky to arrive on Sunday near the end of a service so I had the Church choir as my background soundtrack whilst surveying the magnificent architecture and tall spire. After the service I was able to go inside and was immediately in awe of the high ceiling and stained glass windows. It may not have been the most magnificent Cathedral I have ever seen but it is beautiful and certainly worth the visit.

This church is right next to City Hall MRT. It's a great photo spot, especially popular for wedding photography.

You can visit inside the chapel during certain hours in the morning. It's good chance to take pictures inside the church.

Besides that there is nothing much. There is a visitor centre when you can get free drinks and some information about Singapore and about the church.

St Andrew's Cathedral is Singapore's biggest Cathedral. It is big and in a big open space in the heart of the city but Singapore has many other smaller but prettier churches and cathedrals. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's not nice, just not as nice as some of the others.
The cathedral was originally built in the 1840s, then rebuilt in the 1860s. It is Singapore's first Anglican church. It is a large church with a tall spire. The large interior has a very high ceiling.
Getting there is easy. It is just beside City Hall MRT station which has an exit on North Bridge Road just outside the cathedral fence. There are also many buses to North Bridge Road where opposite Peninsula Plaza, beside the cathedral is a busy bus stand.

Serenity when you have a seat and quiet yourself. Reminds me of the cultural and religious diversity that has created Singapore.
