“Photogenic place”
Reviewed December 25, 2013

This place is a deserted old quarry sitting next to Bukit Gombak MRT Station, it is free, you can take all the photos you want including using flash, it is open 24 hours a day, there are no security guards in the area, and you don't expect any guided tours.
Photogenic, but nothing else. No food stalls here, no signboards, the path is very short, and you cannot go up to the top of the quarry.

“Small Quarry Lake Park in the West”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

Little Guilin park was named after the famous karst mountain region in southern China, however in truth this park only has a couple of granite walls. This offers very scenic views for the many residents living nearby and opposite the park, however there really isn't too much else here. The park is now named the more prosaic Bukit Batok Town Park in fact.

While there used to be a trail into the forest and to the top of the cliff, this was closed to the public in 2007 due to landslides. What remains today is just a small pleasant lakeside park for residents to relax in. While it might be interesting for out of town visitors to see this, I wouldn't recommend making a trip out here to visit the park unless you were already in the neighbourhood.

You can visit my blog for more info about this the neighbouring Bukit Batok Nature Park:

“Mystical lake”
Reviewed August 12, 2013 via mobile

Little Guilin is very small in size. Unlike the real Guilin in china, the rocks here are granite and the lake is man made. Still it is a beautiful park. Quite far from the main city, we had to take the mrt from raffles place up to jurong east change once and continue up to bukit gombak. From the bukit gombak mrt station walk for about 8 minutes and you will see the park. On weekends you will find several families picnicking, people fishing and shutter bugs snapping away on their cameras!
