Owner description: River Safari is Asia's first and only river-themed wildlife park inspired by the world's most iconic rivers. Witness some of the biggest, most endangered animals from these rivers, in lofty tanks and luscious walk-through exhibits! A must-see are giant pandas Kai Kai and Jia Jia in Southeast Asia's largest giant panda exhibit. Plus the world's largest freshwater aquarium themed after the Flooded Amazon Forest! “The new Panda enclosure is brilliant”
Reviewed February 3, 2014

Singapore zoo really is the best In the world in my opinion. The new river safari park is brilliant. (Although the river boat ride is terribly naff, so don't be too upset if you miss out, because you need a ticket when you enter! It is just a boat ride through a few enclosures and you can see them all without the boat!)
The panda exhibit is brilliant and huge. Jia Jia and Kai Kai are adorable. Jia Jia is shy and might be in her cave, but she did come out. It is so fabulous seeing them so well cared for. Great merchandise too.
The squirrel monkey exhibit lets you wander around a large enclosure and get very close indeed. It tells you not to approach them, but the monkeys loved my shoes and kept coming over to investigate. Brilliant. They are very very cute. Also, don't miss the feeding of the manatees or the polar bear (the polar bear enclosure is actually visible from both parks as it links both)

“Rip off place; overrated”
Reviewed February 2, 2014

Trust me, if you're not in line by 8:30 am, you're not getting on the boat ride, which is the ONLY reason to go on a "river safari". we decided to try to get on, and they said there is no way to get on without a ticket reservation. We had been given some false information, so they agreed to let us go sort of standby. They said it would be another 15 minutes. After waiting 90 minutes, we gave up. The line didn't move a single inch in 90 minutes.

The rest of the place wasn't that great, other than the tank with the manatees in it, which was quite spectacular. Only one panda was available to see, but it was a nice setup, and they don't allow too many people in at once, so it makes it a bit better.

Gift shop was typical Singapore zoo rip off: $33 to $36 for a simple t shirt. do the math. Total rip off. The river exhibits weren't that interested, and way too crowded to see much up close or comfortably. Admission price is not worth it, and the only real attraction is to see a live panda. Nice, but not worth the effort, heat, costs, crowds, rude pushy people, etc.

“An interesting day”
Reviewed February 1, 2014

We spent half a day at the river safari, that is plenty of time to see everything there. They have a huge array of fish from all over the world as well as other animals. My favourite enclosure was the squirrel monkeys where you walked through their cage and they came right past you and crossed your path. The boat ride was good but was much shorter than we expected. There are some good animals to see on your ride though. The Giant Pandas were lovely to see. There are very few places to eat in the park and we didn't see anywhere to buy water etc. except at the eating places so make sure you have plenty with you.

“Go for Panda and not the boat ride”
Reviewed January 31, 2014 via mobile

Boat ride is really boring and doesn't live up to its hype. The ride is very simple and does have a minor 3 bumps and thats it!!

The best part and value for the money spent is to meet the Panda and that's obviously a great experience and the only experience.

“DON'T BUY THE TICKET IF NO BOAT”
Reviewed January 29, 2014

When i get there, the staff inform me that the boat are totally full, but when i go to the pier (around 4:30 PM), i see no one in the queue and no boat at all. :(

DON'T BUY THE TICKET if there's no boat service on that day, else you'll spend 35 SGD with only few animals to see.
