Fating from the late 18 or early 19 hundreds, this victorian building stands still firm in between all the skyscrapers in the City. Excellent selection of food stalls with ample choice of menu and moderate prices. Very busy at lunchtime but not so busy in the early evening.

I loved eating here every day with my family. The choice of different food was immense, something for everyone. The food was so tasty every time. You can have breakfast lunch and evening meal. I recommend a visit!

Lau Pa sat food hawker centre is a great place to visit for a meal. Don’t expect table cloths and waiter service. This little gem is all about choices there are many various cuisines on offer from local, Indian and western foods. Beverages are purchased separately from the drinks bars, as are desserts if you have room. For the price of two beers at our hotel ( $32) we each had a large bowl of Singapore fried rice, five fish cakes, with waffles for pudding, washed down with a beer for the same price. There is so much choice, the food is fresh and the people friendly. A great place to soak up the local atmosphere. Situated close to both China town, and downtown stations (downtown line blue).

Lau Pa Sat has a vast array of food stalls offering cuisines from around the world.

The prices are very cheap, and the food was still very tasty.

I would recommend seating in the middle of the market, as if you're on the outer ring you may be pestered by people trying to push their stall/dishes.

Make sure you come hungry and ready to be immersed in the local Singapore food culture.
Excellent satays out on the street which is set up every night. All reasonably priced and filled with locals.
Yum!
