The Churchill was brilliant for Valentine's; and also for Father's Day when a magician kept the children out of the way by the stage.
I went back on a Sunday evening, when the atmosphere was more austere compared with the bustling Tavern across the hall. Although the lunchtime menu in the Tavern Restaurant is cheaper on Sunday night I found the Churchill room was hardly dearer. Also the set menu offered a new dessert - I'd lunched several times at the Tavern and tried two desserts at the Tavern and found them tasteless, so I opted to try the Churchill for a change. Service was slow though the restaurant manager had apologised in advance. A good experience.
