We just finished a great stay in Singapore at the Bliss Hotel. We were surprised at how BIG our rooms seemed after reading many TA reviews. We got an inexpensive room and it was a deluxe double (19sqm). The rooms that others say are so small were probably the smaller rooms (standard single is 10sqm). Bliss is located in a very central area. One of our favorite morning breakfasts was across the street at Roti's (a small hawker shop located on Eu Tong Sen Street). We did laundry at Easy Wash (24hr laundromat), had shaved ice at Mei Heong Yuen Dessert and was pleasantly surprised at how good the KFC Parmesan Truffle Fried Chicken was. Went to many Michelin Awarded Hawker stalls, some were fantastic and some were not worthy of the hype, but all were fun to try. All of these places were easy walks from Bliss Hotel.

The king sized bed in our room was soft and comfortable and you can’t beat the location of this hotel. So close to the mrt and like 5 minutes walk to Chinatown entrance and all the shops and food and hawkers. I would definitely book Bliss again.

The room is small by western standards but are you really going to be staying your hotel all day? You’re in the heart of Chinatown!

The shower in our room was weird and water would pool outside of the shower but that’s not a big deal.
We stayed one night and slept like babies. The place was quiet, cool and it had free wifi. Also you can get a complimentary traditional singapore breakfast.

We have been very happy with this hotel. We decided to book after reading good reviews from fellow travellers. Close to everything. Clean and friendly atmosphere. Would stay again . Easy walk to all main attractions . It's next to chinatown and many restaurants nearby for breakfast and dinner.

Booked the room for new year 2019 trip via Expedia.

Best thing about the hotel is the central location.

Service was below average.

Room was tiny.

The room make up staff mistakenly took away our white towel which looks similar to the one from the hotel. Reported on the same day and the response in written the day after was simply "We could not find it". They did not bother to tell us in person.

There was a payment issue where Expedia did not pay the hotel in full. Not sure when the hotel was aware of the problem but they did not inform us during our 4 nights stay until the last minute when we checked out.

During checkout they asked us to pay the remaining balance. I requested them to contact Expedia to work out what was going on. Quickly identified that it was not our fault. At that time we were already behind with the flight schedule going back to Australia. Even though it was a payment issue between Expedia and Bliss hotel, frontdesk staff would not let us go despite I repeatedly told that we are about to miss out flight.

We were only able to leave upon Expedia's clearing the payment, which took another 30 mins.

We were lucky to get to the airport and cleared the custom just 5 minutes before the gate closed. However we did not have time to claim GST for the shopping done during our stay in Singapore.

Singapore has always been our favourite holiday destination for many years. However from this experience we need to reconsider whether to visit the country again.

Overall, it was the our worst holiday experience ever.

Look. It’s Chinatown, so things are always going to be a bit different. And this room is small enough that if you swung a cat in here the RSPCA would bash your door down to make you stop. But hell, if you are here to do the glam relax you in the wrong place son!
Here’s what Bliss is bad for. It’s bathrooms suck. No lying, the floor ends up with more water in it than what you put through the shower! And the room is bed width.
But why are you planning on staying in Chinatown? If you are choosing it as an elegant chill place you are stupid, pay the extra hundreds and stay somewhere better. If you are looking cheap as hell, do the galaxy pods around the corner (see my previous review). But if you want a bed that is comfy and clean, a hotel smack bang In the action without the associated noise then this is the hotel for you. And the staff seem like they would offer an organ if you needed it, they are that helpful. Not necessarily their own, but still. These people do everything and do it well. I’m planning on coming back here again, and I know where I’m staying. Bliss is bliss.
