I stayed solo here for 2 nights. I thought its going to be a lonely stay since I did not have friends with me. Well to my surprise, it wasn't! The staff were really friendly and helpful. They gave me exact directions to my destinations. The place is also accessible to lots of affordable dining areas.
The hostel reception is like a big living room where guests can socialize and meet new friends :)

Just a few suggestions though,
maybe the check-in time can be adjusted a little bit earlier.
also, a nice cheap pair of slippers and a small curtain for the individual capsule beds(additional privacy) would be a great upgrade of the hostel.:)

Super friendly and helpful staff, rooms clean, beds are like capsule beds but comfy and own reading light and secure little cupboard to charge phone etc. So room is really small but it was a comfy nights sleep.

B88 is located right in the middle of Bugis and Farrer Park MRT. Located in Jalan Besar, a walking distance (approx. 10 minutes) to Bugis Junction and Mustafa .
Love its spacious lobby and the breakfast they serve and also clean .
I stayed for two nights and slept in the female dorm. Would like to suggest to B88 to add curtain for privacy and please fix the elevator :D and thicker blankets because the AC is too coldddd.. Also clean the bathroom more thorughly because of hairs in the drainage & maybe put a sign to remind the travellers to clean after using it .
Overall, it is a nice hostel and I may come back again

Room Tip: Book many months before to avoid full vacancy and request female dorm for female travellers

The hostel itself is quite nice, and the staff are lovely and so helpful, but it couldn't have had any less of a fun loving hostel vibe if it tried! What attracted us here were the capsule type beds which were actually not as uncomfortable as it sounds. However we were only provided with a small, thin blanket which didn't cover either of us completely' and the material meant they picked up lots of hairs and such; and not necessarily yours.

The common room area is really nice, and breakfast was good but limited to toast or cereal. But being in the common room, especially at breakfast or dinner time, was like being in an out of control nursery. All the people staying there bar us were Asian families, some with small children who were extremely misbehaved - banging on the glass doors, throwing pillows around and screaming. Unfortunately their families were being loud enough themselves not to notice and the staff were understandably getting annoyed. We were also awoken at 6am to a baby crying (not sure where there is room for a baby in the room) and then music to try and drown the sound out. Not exactly the hostel experience we were hoping for!

In addition to this the cubicles in the bathrooms were toilets and showers, therefore constantly wet. And as you had to take your shoes off you couldn't go in without your feet getting wet. It smelled strongly of urine constantly so just felt quite unclean. I understand the guests are not the hostels fault, we were just surprised to see them there in the first place. Because of this we would not stay here again.

The location is rather far from any MRT station (at least 20 minutes walk to reach). The hostel is not disabled-friendly as there are only stairs available (no wheelchair terrain/elevator). The room is quite small, but occupy many. There are around 30 occupants in each floor, but only 2 bathroom/toilet, 1 bathroom and 1 toilet for everyone to share. The water pressure is very low and of low flowing volume. The ladder to upper bunk bed is dangerous and narrow, unlike most doubledecker bed, this one has only one side of holder to hold on. Although the sleep box are suppose to provide more privacy, the bed facing directly the door are clearly seen and gives little privacy. The down side is, the beds away from aircond will get too stuffy, and the beds facing directly the aircond will be freezing cold. There is no bean bags in the living room, so most people will sit on the floor. Comparing to other backpacker hostel (of the same price or lower price), this one has no mac or ipad for guest use. Wifi is not stable and connect to limited devices. Nonetheless, good breakfast is served from 8.30am - 10.30am, and the staffs are friendly. Was an ok stay, but there is a lot to improve.

Room Tip: ask for rooms in lower floor, lower bunk for people who are not used to climbing ladder, upper bunk...

Good location, can bring your own food and has some breakfast. TV room downstairs with endless movies are nice. They put the western tourists together in the same dorm which is nice to pick up some company. The sleep-box has some nice features like a small private safe with electric inside to safely store and charge your phone / laptop etc. You can store your backpack in a separate large closet with a lock. It is all really tiny but at least you can sleep under 15 euro's a night. I found out that the air supply isn't just enough for so many people in one room. You can better sleep with your head towards the airshafts and not with your head inside the box. Note: there are single boxes and couple 'bigger' boxes. Arrange booking by internet, it's much cheaper. Walk-in rate is more expensive, and mostly, fully booked anyway.
We had some awkard moments with the staff due to a sudden rise of costs after changing to another bigger box but in the end it was oke.

This hostel is perfect for backpackers especially in Singapore where hotels are quite expensive. There is a bus stop right in front of the hostel. They have a strong wifi connection. The staffs are helpful and can speak english well.
