This was a great place for business lunch. Service was good and we had quiet a variety of food. The Xiao Long Bao dumplings were my hands down favorite! I also enjoyed the noodles with pork and vegetables were prepared well. The only lunch dish I did not care for was the beef.

The dumplings was incredible tasty and obviously fresh - served piping hot to your table. It was delicious. We also tried the fried rice and we enjoyed it very much.

Loved this restaurant! Great food, well prepared and really well priced. Business colleagues loved it too. The service was excellent and the restaurant just packed for good reason. No wondee that this place is so popular.

Their Xiao Long Bao hasn't been consistently good nowadays, and their skin was made too thickly. Fried Rice with Pork Ribs were still great, and it is more worthwhile to order that instead of fried rice and pork ribs as separate orders

There were about 20 of us having a dinner there just now, split into 2 tables. We arrived about 6.45 pm and waited for about 45 mins (no reservation accepted), which was okay because we've often seen the long queue before and expected as much.

Ordered the signature xiao long bao, minced meat noodles and dumpling noodles, egg fried rice, prawn fried pancake and a few other dishes. Everything we ordered tasted good, though personally I find the xiao long bao and minced meat noodles better at Crystal Jade. Very nice fragrant jasmine tea.

Worst was the service standard from the staff waited at our table. There were 5-6 incidents of them expressing unprovoked annoyance and curtness at the guest throughout the dinner. The most severe case was using an angry tone when waiting to be answered on a question (while the person asked was answering another staff' question - really it wasn't more than a minute and it was to entertain her colleague's question). Or expressing annoyance when asked to split the order equally between the two tables (isn't this a common sense, despite probably a bit different from their usual procedure?). Again a sour face and a loud grumble when we were confused on whether the order was placed correctly at the other table. Or asked us where to put the food when the table was a bit packed (which ended up with us clearing tables up so they could put the plates on it) - we'd expect her to manage the task herself as it wasn't so difficult since the table wasn't that packed, instead of breaking off our conversation asking us to help her. We don't mind helping per se but on top of everything else happening then, they really seemed untrained.

Such are standard courtesy expected from service industry and a restaurant chain as famous as DTF. I think the management did a poor job training their staff. While efficient with well defined procedures, the staff are not able to think in common sense outside the procedures. And lashed their frustration at the guests because we didn't follow their procedures.

Not to say that there's nothing good from the service. Like, they still provide us with the cloth storage space for ladies' bags. They refilled our drinks. But these gestures were eclipsed by the failure to perform courteous service when there's anything outside their expectation (e.g. non normal procedure to split a single order to two tables - don't do this if you happen to come in a big group!).

Not likely to come back, as we've really made up our mind that Crystal Jade (which menu overlaps quite a bit) is more superior foodwise and servicewise. Rating reflects more of the poor service though.
