Description: Opened in November 2012, The Halia at Raffles Hotel is the latest and third addition to The Halia group of restaurants in Southeast Asia. The 100-seater restaurant, housed in the premises of the former Seah Street Deli, is an inviting space with lush planted foliage complemented by wood-carved tables and daylight streaming in through classic French windows. The restaurant prides itself on a refreshing concept which encourages flexibility and communal dining, with dishes classified under "large plates" or "little plates" instead of the usual "appetizers" and "mains". It also boasts an al fresco bar, which serves up its signature Singapore Sling by Hendrick's.

“Excellent & Attentive Service”
Reviewed November 28, 2013

5 of us were there to celebrate 2 birthdays yesterday but we did not mention to the staff at point of reservation nor during the dinner. But we did toast our 2 dear friends before we started dinner and to our pleasant surprise, the 2 birthday ladies' desserts were served on a plate with 'Happy Birthday' piped out in chocolate and a small candle with it, with the staff singing a birthday song as they were being served! All these were arranged without us saying anything but through their own observation! We were very touched and impressed and the service staff was excellent, attentive but not obtrusive! Lovely food and value for money ... Great service beats all and we will be back!

“Perfect evening!”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

We went for dinner last Sunday evening and were very impressed. They describe themselves as as the "casual chic sister of the Halia at the Botanical Gardens" and we feel this is an accurate description. We were looking for somewhere with good service, nice food and drinks without the associated pomp of a fine-dining restaurant to have a relaxing meal to celebrate our anniversary. We started with some cocktails and a serve of fresh bread which came out hot straight from the oven and was accompanied with a simple, but delicious olive oil and balsamic dip. The Singapore Slings were to die for, and were the perfect way to relax after a long day! For mains my partner had one of the steaks with a mushroom sauce and some salad, and I had the pork fillet with wild rice and a hoisin sauce dressing. The meals were of an adequate size, after all this is menu is designed for you to have more than one course, so if you are expecting a mammoth plate then go to a food court. My partner said the steak was fantastic, especially considering it had come all the way from Ireland, and the mushroom sauce was the best he had ever had! I thoroughly enjoyed my pork fillet, the flavours and textures of the wild rice were beautifully matched with the sauce and accompanying vegetables. The desserts were just as good as the rest of our meals, the ice-cream and sorbet were creamy and flavourful, and my ginger nougat parfait was very refreshing.
We would like to thank all the staff for a wonderful evening, and next time we are in Singapore we would be happy to dine with them again.

“Delicious food and great service”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

Went for dinner at Halia Raffles last night... So impressed! The service was impeccable and the food was outstanding. Must try deep fried squid for entree and the lamb for main. Would love to go there again.

“Great afternoon meal”
Reviewed November 19, 2013 via mobile

Had a great meal here at about 3pm today. The restaurant was quiet at the time and the menu looked good so we thought we would give it a go. We had the calamari as a starter and I had the sea bass for a main. It was cooked in a way I had not seen before but was very very tasty. Service was great and would def go again for sure

“Flexible enough to adapt their menu”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

We visited for lunch and the server was most helpful. We have food intolerances and he went through the menu with us explaining what we could and could not eat. Our ideal menu choices needed adaptation and this was no problem.

The server checked with the kitchen and came back with some alternatives as to what the options were. The choice of menu was a little limited but the service was very attentive and personalised which usually makes you want to go back.
