“What we expected”

The courtyard cafe provides a way to eat at raffles without the huge expense of fine dining. Staff efficient ,at times boarding on brusque. Beautiful setting.

“A pleasant evening in this famous courtyard bar...”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Where else to sit on a balmy evening in Singapore for a few drinks other than the courtyard bar of the world famous Raffles Hotel.

Such a timeless feel as you walk in, high bar stools around the oblong bar where you can watch the bartenders shaking and pouring your Singapore Sling or Gin & Tonic, hot nuts offered with each drink, magazines and papers to read while you see your evening out, oblivious to the rush hour traffic on the other side of the wall... all the memories of the BBC series Tenko came flooding back.

Expensive, yes... but if you're in Singapore, it has to be done.

“Perfect pizzas”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

It may seem a sin to visit Raffles and eat pizza, but they were absolutely beautiful, and a good choice for a small snack at lunctime.

“A big let down by staff”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

Waited for 40 mins to order some drinks. Pizza was good. Lasagne was cold in the middle and not of 5 star standard. More like a roadside cafe. Staff looked down their nose at our guests as they had just came back from a backpacking trip in Asia. Judged by their backpacks and just came off the beach look. Staff really need to learn some manners..........
