“Easy Way To Get About? Then Take The HIPPO!!!! :)”
Reviewed March 15, 2013 via mobile

Managed to bag this freebie when we booked our holiday with Thompson in the UK. The tickets are only S$33 for an unlimited pass. Ours was for 48hrs, but unsure if the S$33 was for the same duration.

So what is it? - It's a double decker open top sight seeing bus which is split into 2 routes. The Heritage takes ya around the historical parts including China Town (H12) and Little India (H2). Whilst the City route takes you, well errr...around the city! LOL :)

If you want to get out and about its well worth your time. It's Hop On/Off policy means you can get off at any stop along the way and then simply go to the bus stop at a later time and grab the next Hippo Bus. They run approx every 15 minutes.
There is commentary, but its basic, but what more do you want really on a non human guide attraction.

If I were you I'd get on a Suntec City (the start!) and ride the full circuit, making notes on what stops you'd want to get off at. Then you can plan your time a little better.
You really need to get off at Little India and sample the market stalls (two thirds of the way down there's a butchers and in the heat it does pong a bit!!!).

China town also is very much recommended and also where we ate. Food was good and Massive Tiger beer was only S$5.95... Wooo Hoooo! :)

You'll enjoy it folks, so try it!

Enjoy!!!! :)

“Very very good sights on the way”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

The two rounds, yellow and red,go to different areas. Both are great with clear and good explanations.
We enjoyed these very much and did both rounds.

“Waste of time”
Reviewed January 28, 2013 via mobile

We were highly disappointed and would not recommend this hop on hop off bus tour.
1. Staff is not helpful and just tries to sell you the ticket
2. Location at Suntech is not convenient and hard to find
3. Drinks are not permitted on the bus but they don't even have cup holders
4. One bus had more than 20 minutes delay and we would have missed the walking tour
5. No headphones available in the bus!!! After asking they told us that we could get them at the counter (nobody informed us when we purchased the tickets at the counter!).
6. Even with headphones the system didn't work so we would't have any explanations!
7. Customer service is awful. You need a lot of patience and don't get anything in return.
8. "Sorry for the inconvenience" is the favourite sentence of the staff
9. After a waste of almost two hours we asked for a refund of the tickets. This was the only thing that worked pretty well.
10. Keep away and explore this beautiful city rather by taxi, MRT or foot. You will save money and will see much more.

“Good way see the city”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

This is an very good way to get around the city and see what you want to see. You also have the option of getting off the bus to see places in detail. The buses are air conditioned which, when we were there, was a great relief to the oppressive heat. If you want to sit upstairs that is also an option. The upper deck is open so great photos can be obtained from here - especially if you sit at the back and shoot looking backwards. The stops are not always well marked so make a note of where it should be. The commentary is good but not inspired. If you get on and go to the upper deck make sure you hang on to the handrail as the drivers don't wait for people to get settled before heading right back into traffic. A good, economical way to see the city.

“Pretty good value”
Reviewed January 25, 2013 via mobile

Could not hear the commentary and there are a variety of air conditioned buses on 3 routes and we thought $27 was pretty good value for 24 hours......3 different routes. Hop on hop off
