The Zoo is in a rain forest and that is a spectacular setting, but I didn't like how some of the larger cats were pacing up and down in their cages, and some looking very thin, like the cheetah - also some of the enclosures were far to small.

I have only been to a few different zoos but Singapore is definitely the best. everything is so well laid out and the animal enclosures are so perfect for them.
decent price to get it, you can also add on the night safari and river safari but we chose to just to the normal zoo.
we watched the elephant show and while I don't really support the elephants living to work they are so talented and you can see that they are very loved. each elephant has their own keeper who they so clearly have a close bond with.
the polar bear was definitely the favourite, there is two parts to the enclosure; indoor and outdoor. each time we went past she was in the pool, seemingly just doing the same lap around it so was quite sad that she looked bored. but definitely something to see.
elephant ride is $8 but only lasts about 2 minutes. still something good for the kids if they have never done it before.
definitely a place to go in Singapore!!

We visited the Singapore zoo on the 10th November 2013 and loved the whole experience. This would have to be the most user friendly zoo we have been to. It was easy to get around and has great viewing for all ages . The polar bear was amazing. Well done to all.

The Singapore zoo is probably one of the best zoo I have ever been. There' a whole lot of animals in there and shops at each exit.
Time is important. Before actually entering the zoo, grasp a map and plan out your time.
REMEMBER to bring a camera. If you have an DSLR, use a tele lens because they really helps in cages. Do not use flash in the zoo because they frighten animals, making them to go defensive and hide.(and control your voice)
Just incase, bring an umbrella you'll never know when the rain is going to fall or the sun is going to dry you up.
Get there early to avoid long queues and tourism, they will really make you wait and frustrated . Bring extra cash because there's many things to buy.
