As a Zoo this is probably as good as its going to get.Enclosures are large and the animals actually look healthy and well cared for.
The Panda are a must.

I haven't seen many zoos in the world, but I'm pretty confident that the Singapore zoo will outbeat most of them. The zoo is designed as an open setting, and instead of cages, the animals have enclosures. It is stunningly designed and landscaped. The zoo itself is carved out of SIngapore's forest reserve and it gives you a tropical forest feel. It has a diverse selection of animals from carnivores to herbivores to reptiles and sea life. All appear to be well taken care of by professionals.

The experience is also educational because every enclosure has a board detailing the region where the animal is found, its diet, endangered status etc. And it's all designed in a colorful, interactive and engaging way. A great place for kids (and adults) to learn about the animal kingdom.

It's a really enjoyable half a day experience and I highly recommend it.

IT was a fun experience and novel too. I went with friends from US who went again the next time they stayed and they had as much fun as we did.

Simply outstanding, not only as a zoo but as one of the top things to do in Singapore.

The zoo has definitely been designed with meticulous attention to detail and it shows everywhere. Spotlessly clean, animals look like they are treated very well indeed and truly beautiful and thoughtful animal enclosures. Marvelous open concept ensures clear views to all animals including lions, tigers and cheetahs with no bars/cages getting in the way. I did not take the tram and wouldn't want to anyday. Exploring on your own and spending time at the exhibits where you want to is far more enjoyable.

Keep the map handy as the place is quite big. Secondly the animal show times are there and they should not be missed. Plan beforehand which show to go to and how long it will take to get there in time.

We spent around 6 hours at the zoo and then went later for the Night Safari. Packing both in one day is challenging but very much doable and a great use of 1 day if you are short on time. With so many amazing animals to see, its hard to pick a few, but our favourites included the white tiger, the orangutans, the manatees, elephants, chimpanzees and cheetahs to name a few. The baboon enclosure is quite brilliant with a waterfall and ibex (?) on top of the little hill and the baboons at the bottom. Finally, the sight of two living breathing Komodo dragons alone would have made the journey worthwhile for me. These two are massive and amazing to behold.

Finally, lest I forget, remember the zoo now has two giant Pandas and again these are a must see. You need to buy the tickets at the entrance before entering the zoo. This is important as you cannot buy the tickets later on. We were lucky to see both the pandas in their beautiful enclosures as well as the hyperactive red Pandas (they don't stand still for a second).

Overall, can't recommend this highly enough. Too many things to mention, simply go for yourself and have a great day.

Tip: if you do go for the Night Safari, then the taxi line when going back will be never ending. You will be better off taking the bus to the nearest MRT like we did. Even if the MRT closes, you will get a taxi easily and save some money as well.

I'm not a lover of Zoo's so wasn't planning to go. A few people had told me how good it is and when my friends came to visit for the UK we went. I loved it. The animals are hardly chaged in and the natural jungle of Singapore has beeen used to the full to promote that feeling of the wild. Take the tram so you can hop on and off. The food hall is okay but nothing special. Look at the times for feeding and shows and plan your route according to your preferences. 15mins to view the Pandas seemed short but once in you have ample time to view and take photos.
