Everywhere you go in Singapore you see adverts for the night safari so my expectation was high before I had even taken the bus which collects visitors from the various hotels during the early evening. The journey to the Zoo took about an hour due to rush hour traffic and just before arriving at the zoo a bus employee got on the bus taking the fare for a one way ride and a cheaper entry ticket to the night safari. As soon as you arrive at the zoo you are guided into their commercial area where there are shops and restaurants before you make your way to the mini train that takes you on the safari through the various animal areas. As it is night there is little light and many of the animals sighted are motionless and look as though they have been stuffed and placed in strategic positions so that you can take a photo without a flash. The safari lasts for about 30-45 minutes and you return to the commercial area where you have to wait until the bus calling at your hotel departs. Again you have to buy another ticket to take you back. There were a lot more exciting and interesting things in Singapore which I could have done for a lot less money !
