“Small, stylish hotel and nice staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2008

This is a small stylish hotel, located near Raffles, and, as other reviewers have noted, the rooms certainly have the wow factor - very smartly furnished, fab lighting, very large room with a kitchen and living room. Lots of technology, two massive TV's (one in lounge and one in bedroom) and our bed was also the most comfortable we've ever had. Bathroom was large and immaculate with a huge separate shower area.

The lobby area is very modern, it's a bright and airy space with colourful furniture and interesting lighting. Breakfast is in the lobby which some might not like too much and space constraints mean the breakfast selection was short of the typical extensive offering at the Pan or InterCont, but what is there was well considered and the quality of every item was excellent. Also, not having hundreds of guests at breakfast is a very pleasant change, staff are attentive and, significantly, there is none of the usual hussle and bussle around the 'buffet'.

Possibly the service isn't quite as polished as at the major 5*s (reception desk is hidden, so they didn't see us arrive to help with our bags) but their personality and enthusiasm MORE than makes up for this Eg. we asked for all our bedding to be changed from feather when we arrived (due to allergies). The housekeeping staff were extremely accommodating and really could not have been more helpful.

The rooftop infinity pool pool has a great view over the city and Raffles hotel. The pool area is small but visually attractive with good rattan furniture. The leaf shape loungers are very comfy!

The Naumi is a relatively new boutique hotel in Singapore. The rooms are sleek a nd immaculate. The rooftop pool is absolutely gorgeous and has a great view of the financial district skyline. Especially at night the view is superb. The only downside is that the breakfast is a little boring. But in Singapore, where there is so much good food always just around the corner, this is not a major problem. And, if you are a party animal, they provide a lot of hangover remedies at breakfast. We had a room with a balcony that I can definitely recommend.

This newer property really stands our from the typical business hotel rooms that so many places in this city offer.

The very sleek rooms include flat screen TV's, DVD players, and free wireless internet.

The lobby is great, and the breakfast includes some very unique dishes.

Staff is great, and attentive - I highly recommend staying here, the same price gets you a very standard room at most other hotels here.

I've had my fill of the big chain hotels whilst travelling on business so it was nice to discover that Singapore did have a small quirky hotel like Naumi.

Our party comprised ourselves, toddler daughter plus my mother and the 2 bedroom suite at the Naumi was perfect. With 2 bathrooms and a small sitting room it was easy to work around a jetlagged toddler and share baby-sitting. Perhaps I just ought to point out that the single room didn't have a window (just a glass wall and curtain onto the sitting room). It was nice to have a fridge with complimentary drinks in too. Location-wise, it is a block away from Raffles and a short walk from Suntec and getting taxis didn't seem difficult. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and small convenience stores.

We loved the roof-top infinity pool too, which was usually deserted. There was a bar area up there which was always closed (but we could call down to reception for drinks).

Apparently we were supposed to have a personal butler, but we never managed to figure out who that might have been; all the staff seemed to pitch in! Admittedly our daughter has blond hair blue eyes and is a bit of a show-off, but she was spoilt rotten by the attentive staff (who knew our names from day 1).

We didn't get the slick seamless service of some of the other hotels, but the staff's enthusiasm made up for it.

We stayed at the naumi for four nights and overall, it was a fairly pleasant experience. We had a deluxe suite which was extremely comfortable and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and I got better sleep there than I have at any other hotel I've stayed in. The bathroom had a separate shower and large bath tub which was great especially after a long day of shopping/sight seeing. The views from the infinity pool on the rooftop were fantastic and the pool area was a great spot to laze around for a bit. The hotel is located in a nice central spot - it's within walking distance to Arab street, Chjimes, the merlion, Raffles Hotel and the City Hall MRT station.

One of the things that I noticed pretty quickly about the hotel is the fact that their staff are pretty young and their inexperience did show through at times. An example of this would be the fact that I had called the hotel prior to our arrival to ask if we could get an early check in (as our flight was arriving in the early hours of the morning) and I was assured that it would be arranged, however, when we did get there, we had found that our room had not yet been cleaned up by housekeeping. Another example would have been when my partner had the unfortunate luck of developing appendicitis during our stay. I found when I called reception to find out what we could do about seeing a doctor, they were (at best) unsure of how we needed to proceed to get help. I was rather unimpressed with how they handled the situation until the shift manager stepped in. It wasn't all bad with the hotel staff though, they were very friendly and warm at all times which can be a refreshing change from many of the larger hotels.

  • Liked — Extremely comfortable, nice central location
  • Disliked — Inexperienced staff

Naumi Hotel is one great place! Fantastic service! The room is huge! The bed is so comfy it feels so good to sleep in.. the bathtub is huge! Infinity pool upstairs is a great place to chill and watch the sun set... They mostly have everything you need in the room.. my boyfriend booked the executive suite and invited my family and friends over for a surprise birthday party for me... I had a very good time there. The only thing which I find annoying is the toilet door. It doesnt come with a lock (which means whenever we need to go, we need to shout out if there's anyone using it at that moment... also, you need to slide it with care as it bangs onto the marbel wall and creates a loud bang which can be annoying.. this went on throughout the nite from other rooms and for light sleepers, it may be a deal breaker.... Overall, I simply loooove Naumi.. I will MOST DEFINITELY come back again (my friends were so impressed by this hotel they are planning a X'Mas Party to be held there!!)

Just wanted to echo the other reviews of this hotel. This really is a fabulous place to stay in Singapore, Great location, amazing infinity pool with views of Raffles & CBD.
We stayed here for 5 days which is about the right amount of time to see Singapore. Loads of attractions to see Sentosa (Fort Silosa was very interesting), Orchard Road, Fort Canning Park, Changi Prison, Singapore Art Museum & National musem are all worth exploring.
We also found the cutest bar & dessert cafe called Cafe Doumas at 124 Owen Road (just behind Farrer Park MRT). They had great cocktails and desserts to die for. Can also reccomend Cafe Salivation at 75 Syed Alwi Road which offers chic vegetarian food at bargain prices. Drinks at Loof and New Asia Bar (top of Swissotel) also recommended for the views.
Beware drinks are so expensive in Singapore. Do also eat at the hawker centres (like the locals) we found the food to be as good if not better than the restaurants and wonderfully cheap!
