The Inn at Temple Street
Ranked #187 of 317 Hotels in Singapore
Reviewed March 9, 2013

The Inn at Temple Street redefines tiny. The rooms are tiny. Going to the bathroom means luggage on the bed, bathroom, luggage off the bed. The air-con is a disaster. Leaving the room cold and wet. So wet and moldy that the wallpaper is peeling off. If you could open the window, which is not possible, it might be different. The staff is rather friendly and professional given all the complaints I heard during my 3 day stay. Having said that, the location is great. If you have a good immune system it's a great place. If not, better pay a bit more.

Good rooms. Small, but clean. Please get a wireless router that allows a connection to the 3rd floor! The service was pretty good. I only downgrade to average because we asked for a do not disturb request for our 3 day visit. On the 2nd day the house keeping staff attempted to come in. Luckily, I was there and reminded them and the front desk about the request. Again overall an excellant place that is easy to get find and lots of Chinese and Hawker food options within walking distance. This is not an area fof the late night crowd as many businesses close by 10pm. Also as was already shared there are stairs ONLY at this hotel. The handicapped, families with strollers, and elderly should find other places to stay if they have any issues with fact.

I have stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions. It is well placed in Chinatown and very close to the MRT.
Although the rooms are small, they are spotlessly clean with a good en suite shower.
Hotels in Singapore tend to be expensive but "The Inn's " prices are somewhat lower than most of the larger ones.
The staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately there is no lift and you will have to go outside for a breakfast but there are plenty of places nearby for that.
I recommend it but I would advise not to ask for a room overlooking the street around Chinese New Year . It can be noisy at that time.

If you’ve arrived in Singapore from another South East Asian country like Indonesia or the Philippines you’ll find Singaporeans polite but not overly friendly. Similarly you’ll find the prices shocking compared to places like Malaysia and you really need to book ahead to be sure of getting a bed.

The rooms are very small here and there’s just a corrugated plastic door between your bed and the bathroom which isn’t ideal or very private. The bed was comfortable but quite small – if you’re more than 6 foot tall you’ll be sleeping in the fetal position.

There’s WIFI on every floor but with the thick fire doors and winding corridors you won’t get a strong signal in the rooms so wandering in the hallways is the only option if you need to be online.

There are a number of bars across the road which can play loud music until 2am so ask for a quiet room when you book. We had wax earplugs so it didn’t effect us badly.

The restaurant next door and the Korean BBQ place up the street are recommended.

Room Tip: Book well in advance and get a room that does not face out on to Temple Street if possible.

Stayed here for F1 in September. The hotel staff were very helpful and answered email requests prior to arriving very promptly.
We were lucky enough to get one of the renovated rooms which was very nice. The rooms where clean and well looked after.
The location is fantastic and really is in the heart of Chinatown. It is very easy to get to from the Chinatown stop on the SMRT.
It is right in the heart of great food and shopping.
