“Friendly staff and good budget accomodation close to the city.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2011

I stayed at this hotel as a single female on a stopover holiday for 5 days. The staff were very very helpful and friendly, the room service was good, and the room, while it was a little run down, was clean and well kept.

The hotel is close to Little India and China town, and is only a 5 minute taxiride from the popular sites such as Orchard road and Marina Bay Sands.

There were only a couple of things I wasn't happy with, one of which was the internet. It wasn't free (S$26.25 for 24hrs) and when paid for it wasn't very fast. Also the walls must be quite thin, as I had a young family next door to me, and could hear them through the walls. There was a wedding on the weekend that went into the wee hours of the morning, and was quite loud, despite the fact it was being held in the courtyard 9 levels down and the windows were bolted shut. Nothing that foam earplugs can't fix, though.

Everything else was satisfactory, and I felt safe in the hotel and the surrounds day and night.

I'd definately recommend it to other solo travellers and families

This was a good option in Singapore on a budget. Had never been to the Arab Quarter where this hotel was located and it turned out to be quite good. Close to Little India also. Bugis MRT and shops only a block or two away. The pool area was a major positive as it was big and the area around it had plenty of space. The room itself was tight but we only needed to sleep in there really. The Grand Mosque nearby was picturesque. Service wasn't above and beyond but they did the bare essentials ok. I would stay here again for the price. The main thing lacking was a breakfast option nearby as we didn't have a deal. We went to McDonalds at Bugis a couple of times.

Its a pretty big hotel and very close to the heart of the city - those are the only two redeeming features of this hotel! One is likely to be overwhelmed by the excess air -freshner and number of people and baggage one has to encounter as one enters the hotel (the lobby/reception is on the 3rd floor and the concierge is on the ground floor and its very likely that one may have to wait quite a while after one has checked-in for the luggage to reach the room ). The funny part about this hotel is that none of the departments seem to answer their phone - we stayed in the hotel for 5 nights and whenever we tried calling the front desk or room service or even the operator, the phone, more often than not, would go unanswered and this was not in odd hours or after hours! So if you are travelling with family and are likely to spend more time in the hotel, then its best to avoid this hotel! And even if you are not travelling with family, then there are hotels in the area to choose from- if one is going to spend big bucks, then one might as well get some service for it. The hotel's wi-fi rates are exorbitant and it makes sense to take a cab or walk it down to internet cafe's near Bugis Village market - the browsing rate at the internet cafe plus the cab fare work out cheaper than the hotel's wifi rates!

Visiting Singapore from New Zealand I stayed here in June 2011 for a week-long tech convention. This hotel caters very well for Indian visitors and I enjoyed meeting many of them in during my stay here. The hotel is pretty tired and in need of a refit but is mostly quite functional and useful. It's not luxury, but there is plenty of the out in the city.

Good: Very very very helpful staff, large rooms, super-cold air-con, safe in room, large TV, iron, ironing table hangers. great view from the upper floors, nice breakfasts, very quiet rooms despite high occupancy, taxis always available, cleaning very good.

Bad: Terrible internet, lifts often didn't work, very noisy Sunday night outdoor parties (but only until about 23:30)

The prices of hotels in Singapore are too high for the standard you get. If you stay anywhere cheaper, don't expect windows or a pool!
This hotel was good value when you compare it to other properties in Singapore.
The staff were very friendly. Always helpful and smiling.
I booked a superior room. The room was very run down, lights switches didn't work, etc. I wanted to use the internet in my room so went to reception to ask how much. It's $26/day for each device. Which means if you have an iphone and a laptop you'll have to pay $52/day! They offered me an upgrade to a club room for a very very resonable amount. The club room was renovated, had unlimited free wi-fi, breakfast in the club lounge, free cocktails and a late check out. This ended up being incredible value.
Location is great being near Bugis MRT which is the same line as to the airport. Little India is very close. It took me about 10 minutes to walk to the Mustafa Centre and Serangoon Rd.
If I was to return to Singapore I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

The hotel offers an amazing location and good view from the top floors...The food served in the restaurants is good, delicious...Although, we didnt find the reception staff very friendly! The hotel didnt let us check in our rooms before 1pm while our flight had landed at 7am and we were at the hotel by 9am!
There were some more delays in the room service, but that could be coz of the peak tourist season and the hotel was understaffed!
Singapore definitely offers a lot of high-end 4 n 5 star hotels, i wouldnt classify this hotel as a high-end one! Its a good decent hotel with neat and clean rooms, restaurants and ambiance!

I had been to Singapore for a Short Trip and stayed at the Landmark Village Hotel.

The Best advantage of the Hotel was it was close to the Bugis MRT and you could easily move around the Busy places in Singapore in minutes.

The Rooms were excellent and expensive, however the internet service was pathetic and we were unable to use the complimentary internet.

The air conditioning was Centralized and the room used to Chill during the night.

We didn't tried the restaurant as the Free Brakfast was denied on the day we checked in.

Overall a positive experience. Thanks to free WiFi by SingTel.
