“Great stay at executive lounge at Landmark Village Hotel, Singapore”
Reviewed May 18, 2011

Hotel is well located next to the Victoria Street bus terminal, where busses to and from Johor Bahru stop. Within walking distance is the Bugis MRT station as well.
The hotel has its own executive lounge floor (18th floor), which is a great idea! On the floor itself is a lounge which only can be accessed with the door key from your room, and only entitled for guests staying at the 18th floor. Breakfast is served in this lounge as well, so no need to sit in a large hall during breakfast. During the day the lounge is accessible for reading, internet and there is coffee and tea with assorted biscuits. At 6pm-8pm there is a cocktail in this lounge, and a range of nice drinks are being served (whiskey, wodka, wine, beer) with finger food as well.
Rooms are good; good beds, bathroom, etc. Every morning the newspaper is delivered to your door.
Staff has been outstanding and great! Warm and friendly and very helpful. Ms Phyu of the lounge was great in customer service and very attending. Even though its a large hotel, it felt special to get that bit of personal attention.
Any dislikes?; Well sometimes, as in most places here, the airconditioners are near freezing point :-)
Next time will stay at Landmark again.

We were on a group tour. We reached the hotel by a couch from airport after a hectic half day sight seeing. The reception was quite slow and it took really a few hours to get the rooms allotted though several rooms were unoccupied. Courtesy was missing at the reception. Concierge failed to send baggage to rooms even after two hours!.

The location of the hotel was splendid. Very conveniently located to may attractions. The upkeep of the hotel was nice with good amenities. The food at the restaurant wa really delicious with a well spread breakfast. House keeping team was courteous and efficient. The overall experience was very good.

If a little more attention can be paid to reception desk and concierge, perhaps it would simply be the best.

I recently stayed at the landmark village Singapore. The location is fantastic, and provides the guests with never ending views of the island.

Hotel situated in the Arab quarter, with bugis mrt a 2 minute walk away and little India a 5 minute walk.

Hotel is very close to taxi and train. Easy to get a taxi and tours from the hotel too. Hotel is very close to bugis village shops and technological complexes.

I found the reception staff not so friendly, no smiles or greeting. Just a rushed check in with no information on the property at all.

The staff at mooi chin restaurant were wonderful, we ate our breakfast their daily. Freshly cooked food was always on offer at their morning buffet.

The restaurant also has a large Indian restaurant on level 5.

The lifts not so good either. Very slow and full during the mornings.

Hotel is a great place to stay, but I feel it caters more for the Indian community.

Landmark Village Hotel, Singapore

Reception – The reception is not at the ground floor, I thinks it’s at the 4th or 2nd floor.

Rooms – The room is spacious and nice. Not new but they have kept it well. See photo to see the room.

Bathroom – clean. Noting fancy.

Service – Good. Not with a smile but service is fair.

Food – only had breakfast at this hotel. Buffet breakfast, nothing fancy.
Location – Quite ok but not the best. Easy to get a cab and a few steps from the MTR.

This hotel would be one of your best bet if you’re traveling on a budget. The place is ok but nothing fancy. I wouldn’t mind staying at this hotel again.

If we hadn't got this hotel at a "sale' price i would have been more disappointed. The location is excellent, near Arab St, on the cusp of little India and close to an MRT to everywhere else. But having stayed in budget places elsewhere, it is interesting how much these big hotels can get away with for triple the rate. Reception was official, efficient AND condescending and therefore lacking in any warmth. I do wonder if a backpack alters their perception of a customer?? The room was not as we booked (with an extra bed), the safe didn't work and the bathroom was quite scungy. Wifi was exhorbitant, TV selection strangely poor and the lifts were the slowest i've ever experienced. I'm not normally very critical of these things, but i also felt the cleanliness of this hotel wwas the lowest of anywhere we had stayed at on this trip. At the end of the day, it is a large hotel in a big city and if you compare it only with the rates of other Singaapore hotels, it was actually very good. To finish on a positive note, the room had a really large window with a fantastic view over Singapore, beds were comfy and the rooftop swimming pool and bar area was lovely. The young poolside barman restored some of our faith in their customer service!

As I was going to be staying for about 10 days, they upgraded me to high floor with complementary internet in the room. Hotel is located close to several restaurants, shopping malls and MRT station. Hotel has 2 restaurants, one serving Indian food and another serving Continental and Chinese food. Many private receptions are held in the area next to pool/garden, adjacent to the Indian restaurant. On such days, mostly on weekends, it is advisable to avoid the Indian restaurant. There is a decent fitness room in the hotel. Many budget tour operators also put their guests in the hotel. Hotel lobby is usually very crowded when the tour party arrives or leaves. Two casinos are not very far from the hotel. Even other tourist attractions are accessible from the hotel.

Room Tip: The hotel used to be called Golden Landmark Hotel.
