We stayed at the Atrium in July; a very disappointing experience. Poor service, lost reservations, a ceiling leak in our room that flooded the room and our belongings, indifferent and incompetent staff, dirty and degraded facilities. Not worth the money or frustration to deal with it, there are much better values in Singapore.

Me and my friend just stood in awe when we walked into this hotel. The lobby is amazing, with glass lifts. We stayed here for 3 nights and had a nice room with fantastic views. Buffet breakfast was great too, with loads of choice. I would delinately recommend this hotel.
The only bad thing was that it wasnt very close to public transport which meant paying for taxis(when we were lazy!)

There are so many options in Singapore and I ended up choosing the Atrium, and was glad I did. I found the service to be of a very high standard, such as concierge and restaurant staff, and the breakfasts were the best I've ever had, the variety of foods was amazing!!! The rooms were quite large, standard furnishings, but clean and very suitable. Most places were quite close by taxi from the hotel, but it is a bit of a walk to public transport if you prefer this option. It was very easy to organise tours and get tourist information from their tourist desk. Convenient that there is an Internet cafe and shop in the hotel lobby but these are a bit pricey. Overall I had a very enjoyable stay here, and would return.

Here is the latest bit on the Holiday inn Atrium where we, my husband, our two year old son and me stayed from April 26-30, 2006. It was quite a comfortable stay for us. Having got a room on the 26th floor (of the 27 floors), the view was quite beautiful, especially when you open the curtains to see Singapore at night.
The minute you give the hotel's address to the taxi drivers, you would be asked whether it is 'Old Glass hotel', or 'The concorde hotel' etc. That's because these were the old names of the current Atrium. The outside glass panels sporting a brown-black colour does look a little old, but the inside makes up for it with its beautiful trasparent lifts, which is even more beautiful in the night when it is fully lighted up.
Although we had asked for a superior room with king sized bed, one was not available when we arrived at the hotel. But they made arrangements for us to get our preferred room soon and in the meantime accomodated us into another room. The room sizes are small and compact, even in the executive suites, where we stayed. The executive room comes with a mini bar/fridge, iron board and iron, and a safe. Service is quite quick and decent, whether it was food we ordered, or the bell service or when we wanted an international three pin plug, one was provided within 5 minutes, of course a fee of Sg $ 5 was charged. Daily housekeeping replenishes sheets, towels and tea and coffee for use. Morning breakfast was quite a standard affair, with a good mix of continental and Chinese.
The shopping arcade on the ground floor takes care of all basic needs. If you want to try the reflexology foot massage that's available down in the shopping arcade, please take care to mention whether you would prefer hard or soft massage. (A note of caution: the hard masssage is quite painful, although in retrospect no visible damage is seen.:-))
All in all the hotel was a comfortable stay for us. No noise, no complaints, no problem.

Room was old, the toilet exhaust fan not powerful enough. Some room lights not working, small private safe in the room is a good point.
The glass building looks really old from outside, but inside from the lobby its nice view up looking at the escalator capsules,
staff nice ok, but we asked about the breakfast which we thought was included and had to ring reception few times to ask about it, which we were told they will get back to us and did not, that’s disappointing.
The shopping centre attached to the hotel building has very few shops opened, about two foot massage shops and one 24 hour grocery and few other offices that are no use for hotel guests, looks very empty.
Not close to any metro station, had to get a bus, taxi or walk. (China town about 30min walk)
Only one Indian café across the street which had the best tea and coffee, about 20p, No other cafes near the hotel,
The building was previously called the glass hotel then the concord and now holiday inn

Stayed 15/03/06 thru 18/03/06. Well situated hotel in the heart of the city, just a short distance from Orchard Rd. Dispite earlier negative reviews, we found this hotel to be of a high standard, front desk and concierge staff always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good (inc in room rate) and plentiful. Lobby area impressive with a view to the very top floors, and glass lifts to all floors.
